how wide a rim is

hey guys whats the best way to find out how wide a rim is with a tire on it... or can anyone tell me the width of the rims on my truck by the pics in my gallery (i think they are off a 3rd gen because they are 17s)

1500 17" steel wheels? I believe they are either 7 or 7.5" wide.

Steelies are 7.5" wide.

Alloys are 8" as far as I know (which isn't that far, lol).
