how things change with age?

You know when I was 18 or so, I was always thinking "geez , so and so is 30. **** thats old". Well you know what... as of today (9/6/07) its not too **** bad. Isn't it funny how your perspective changes !

Just wait until you get to 60. You'll be surprised that you made it this far....

I know exactly what you mean people who were 30 had kids and jobs the whole 9 yards its like youre not a grown up until you get 30 at least thats what I thought I turned 30 this year and I still feel 18 but with a great family and a few more responsibilities I still dont feel like a grown up???

I used to think the same way.
When I turned 55 a few years ago, I looked in the miror and wondered why there was on old man staring at me in the mirror and when I started looking this dam old.

Chris Ledoux said it best "It ain't the years boys, it's the miles". Your only as old as you feel.

Do you feel all grown up??? If so when did you feel like it ??? I still have the same goofy thoughts and want to try silly kid stuff all the time I just thought you would get to a point that life just planed out and you finally arrived. Now I just think people give up and settle for the mundane and stop trying to have fun. THe only difference in 18 year old Troy and 30 year old Troy is I dont do everything or say everything that comes to mind before thinking who will be affected by my actions. I guess that makes me a grown up???

my dad turns 49 next july, he is still a kid, im 22, we get along great and think alot alike, when you start to "think" your old, that is when you get old, that is why we still do fun stuff, easier to stay young than grow old.

LOL, It isn't so much I "think" I am old, it is the revolution my body starts every time I "think" I am still young...................

Interesting question though, when did you feel all grown up? I suppose mine came after the second kid came along and nothing bad had happened yet, we hadn't hit the poorhouse, etc....

I know what you mean. I'm 36 and just had my physical done. The Dr. tells me that I shouldn't schedule my next one until I'm 40... Kinda made me stop and think for a sec..."Wow...I'm 3.5 years away from 40"

Been told I don't look my age, definitely don't act it

I will turn 46 here in a few months, and still can tfigure out what happened.. one minute I was cruising along as a twenty-something,and BOOM, I was 40...... and now I am working with, I gotta call 'em kids, who werent born when I graduated high school... one who wasnt born when I started with teh Sheriffs Office in '86...and is old enough to be a cop herself now..

I posted a list over in teh Humor thread about the kids who will graduate college this year.. and the differences in generations..

Thats the stuff that makes me feel " older" more than anything.. when I say something like " as a kid, i helped my dad change out vacum tubes" and then have to explain what a vacum tube is......

My oldest daughter started her first day of high school today. I guess that kinda makes me think I'm getting old......Nah, I still want to go out and play in the dirt.
