The fine folks who make PB Blaster also make a product called DSR (Decal and Sticker Remover). I've used it with good success on one of those huge foam-backed dealer placards.

Try decal remover from an automotive paint shop. I have gone so far as to tell the salesman decal=no buy car. I've had the dealer remove all decals (4X4, Z71) before I would take posession of my truck.
