Wow.. we sold a 2400sq ft house we built on 20 acres of good pasture land, 40X60 barn w/elect and water to it, all fenced and a few good trees for a little over 175K and that was the higher end of what it was worth around here.
Paid 97K for 25 acres, 1700 sq ft house( less than 10 yrs old), with a stocked pond..( no out buildings and on well water)............guess we're in teh right part of the country.....

Most of the OilSanders have to live in Ft. Scotia... 1200 sqft houses going for a measely $500,000... You have to make $200K a year just to pay for the house.

Having an older truck for business is all good. I put more in my pocket and don't have the bank to answer to for my truck. Bombs however are harder when you have the family plan..

WOW! $97K MIGHT pay for a approx 0.25 acre lot around here.... and then you'd need double that to have a little shack to live in! I live in the wrong part of the county thats for sure...

It would be really interesting to somehow also have the ages posted next to the amounts. Perhaps then we would see that the younger folks are earning the lower amounts. Age versus income may tell a lot. Of course then to complete the chart we would also need education level, but that can be misleading as I know of some that never finished high school or university and are making well into the six figures.

I retired Last December just under 65 (Feb I'll be 66).

RR Retirement isn't bad, but I made over 100k the last 5 years I worked, some jobs don't make the cut-off which was ablut 92k last year.

Also I only had one year of "higher" education.

I'm 18, work at pizza hut deliverin pizzas (yes in the dodge), and i'm lucky to make $1000 a month. BUT i'm still living at home with my parents and they are willing to provide with food and shelter for free while i'm in school. That makes a BIG difference while I'm still young

'average' pipeline welder ??? Careful that is the main reason of cost overrun for the transalaska pipe

Lots of work going on up on the north slope right now with replacing all the corroded pipe, and we will be starting up on a lot on military work at Ft.Greeley Alaska...all you union boys might want to check into this.... As posted by texaspower19...they are getting rigs and around 90 dollars a day in per diem tax free, plus 3 hots and a cot. Plus they are getting 80+ hours week plus no sales tax at stores because we have no state, city or property taxes.
