The market is hot right now too. CM's/GC's are hurting for good folks, so you can almost name your price. I was getting 2-3 calls a week from headhunters for a while until I started asking them if they had anyone available.

I might make it into the second to last category by the end of 07....not bad for a high school drop out. Then again, I am driving a 10 year old truck with 243K on it....

Must be nice. Last year I brought in over 80,000. This year with construction so slow in Ohio I will be lucky to hit 50,000 and next year is not lookin so good either since we are losing factories left and right.

And your point???? ha, ha, ha....

I hear that everywhere! Actually, I wish I were back as a HM dealing directly with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. That was the best of times...I loved my job and hated it at the same time. Long hours and low pay combined with the best people I ever worked with. God Bless the US Marine Corps!!!!

I finally got to a comfortable spot in my career (according to my Leave and Earning Statement) and now it's time to retire .

I won't be making near as much $$ with the job that I am looking at (Arborist) but then again won't need as much thanks to the retainer check from Uncle Sugar. I look at it like this, he is paying for my house and a few utilities ... and all I gotta do is buy food and toys for the kiddies ... the rest is just gravy.

Yeah, doctors and lawyers make a good living but, engineers can get right on up there pretty quick. We have entry level engineers making 100k a year. 20+ years experience gets a person into the elective deferral tax bracket. I thank the Good Lord every single day. Ed B

I second that.....hell my mortgage is $2500 month....grossed up for taxes is equivalent to at least $40k year salary.....my problem is that my salary is tied to the big cities (and employers that can afford me)....and those area's cost so much $'s it's harder to effectively benefit from higher salary's.

The real winners are those that own their own business (write off's) and/or can make great $'s in less expensive areas.

true, i really wanted to move back home to the foothills of NC, but every factory is shutting down for some reason.

seems only way you can make a buck is to be in a big town, with traffic, taxes, and crime.
