how do you mount towel racks in a house trailer?

daughter had the choice of living in 25 yo apartments, or a new trailer out in the sticks, away from the city.

the guy who owns the trailer park is pulling out the old trailers, and putting in brand new trailers.

but, they don't have any towel racks in the bathrooms

what's the trick to mounting them, without tearing up something

i just did 24 inch towel racks in my house, but the studs were 16 inches apart.

where are the "Studs" in a trailer? how do i find them?

A Stud finder works fine, If its a Mobile home they should be 16 on center.

If you can get one end on a stud and use aluminum screw in anchors on the other it will be strong.

Look up user HappyGA on here. He draws plans for trailer houses if I am not mistaken and maybe he can help you out.

i am at her house, so that means i have to go buy a stud finder & stuff.

i bought 2 inch toggle bolts, are they too long?

i know they are not in the studs in regular houses, because they are all 24 inches long at LOWES

I have used a variation of a toggle bolt called a Toggler in my campers over the years. A good product easy to use.

i talked to one guy, he said older trailers had 2x2 wooden studs, and newer one would have aluminum.

we decided to let her call the Landlords Maintenance Man, and have him install them.

i would needed another $50 of tools to install them, i guess.

i did some plumbing for my Mom around christmas, and i needed a Dremel.

the only one local was $69 or $79.
guess what someone got as a christmas present?

I just added some towel racks to my 5th wheel. The little plastic expanding things seem to hold fine, as long as the only weight on them is a towel or two.

If their maintenance guy will do them, though, that might be best. That way no one could complain about extra holes or anything when she moves out.
