How or why did Chevy go from such a good looking front end like this?

I agree, it's heading downhill in the looks department.

 

agreed. new vehicles suck in general IMO.
Chevy just ditched a front end that they have in essence maintained a similar design for several years. Then, they decided to be like everybody else, just like Ford and Chevy took after the Dodge hood design of not being flat, but dropping a couple inches about a foot in from the fenders. Then a grill attached to the hood....

One big retarted game of catch-up with the other makers, not impressed.

 

I like the front end better than the one in between the two....

Other than looking freaking huge, the new front doesn't look bad.

I agree with you. I had a red truck just like the white one in the picture. I absolutely HATED the in between years (the avalanche years). I actually like the new Chevys. I really like the duallys. Not sure I would buy one but I definitely like them. Lets put it this way... I like the new Chevy more than the Mega Cab.

I like the new front end... I actually like the whole truck.

 

i prefer the new GMC's over the new chevy's cause they dont have as big of a bubble on the rear bedsides on the regular beds and the front ends look better.

 

The 03-06 are the best looking imo. And the 07s aint too bad, other than the fenders.

 

Personally I think that they look a lot like a nissan in the front. Witch is probbaly why they look like that, as a cost savings just like with the avalanche style fronts.

 

They look really good lifted with some nice tires up under it.

If I was in the market for a half ton that or maybe a toyota is what I'd be looking at.

 

It looks like one of those seventies styled sneakers, I'm not liking it yet. I liked the previous to last style like the one in the first post's picture....in dark blue or black. My 97 Tahoe is silver and I really like its styling.

 

I liked the "angry-eye" look best of all, both the new Ford and GMs look like cinder-blocks. They are to tall and boxy, IMHO. The Dodge has the best looking truck going these days!

 

I like the front end a lot. It looks mean.

However, I hate the rest of the truck with a passion. Especially the dually flares! Yuck!

 

I prefer the first 2500HD and 3500HD front ends. I dont mind the 03-06 fronts but there is something about the first HDs. I guess its cause of our 02 D-Max =D

But yeah, I really really dont like the new body style. Chevy is trying to hard to be like Ford, which aint a god thing. "You cant polish a EDIT"
