I totally agree. A generator would be great if you're using it for more than just plugging the truck in, but if thats all its for, the Espar/Webasto is so much better. Heats the coolant, circulates it, turns the fan on, and turns itself on. I've used mine down to -38 (coldest is been since I've gotten it), never an issue with it starting. Not sure a generator would like those temps, and sure won't fire up at a touch of a button and then walk away.
Tate,
You have a line on cheap ones around our neck of the woods?

I left Cancun on Sat at 11:00AM. It was about 25C. I walked out of the airport here at 9:00PM and got hit in the face with a -47C windchill. Disgusting!! Freakin' disgusting!!

Well,
I just got off the plane at Bush Intergalactic Airport here in Houston and it was 75 degrees and 96% humididity. I Got on the plane in Cabo San Lucas at 12:30 pm and it was a lovely 72 degrees and 46% Humididity. I wanna go back, but alas, being an A/C contractor, I might have to look for a new profession (maybe a fishing guide comes to mind). BTW went fishing Saturday and our boat bagged 8 marlins 3 yellowfin and 2 Mako sharks. All were catch and release except for the tuna and sharks.....
