Go to a nursery and buy a bag of lady bugs. During the night, while the hornets are "sleeping", release the lady bugs near the nest (within 15' or so).

Seriously?

I was going to say something more like a long stick with a kerosene soaked rag.

Yeah, that stuff is like totally deadly. Not sure what is in there, but bees don't stand a chance. Plus, the new stuff sprays 15' or so, that way you don't have to get up in the mix with them.

We just had an idiot here locally that lost a shed to that method of bee removal.

I've always had good luck with it, but also always in TREE'S too.

I like the "Lady Bug" Idea but I will try the wasp killer, I did not know it would spray 15 feet, thanks for the replys.

For the second year in a row we have one wasp nest and one bee hive/nest in the shed. I was in there yesterday and could hear what sounded like a truck rumbling down the street. Last year I noticed wasps entering the eave and bees coming out of the bottom from under the plywood on the wall. Since the inside is insulated and has vapor barrier on it, I took some 1/4" tubing, attached it to the spray can and inserted it into the lump in the insulation...late at night.
Last year that worked. Last night it did not. This morning, I can hear a louder roar from the wall but cannot see any wasps or bees around the shed. what I did see was mulched up insulation along the stud where I found the wasp nest...buried in the insulation. Up higher near the rafters theres another lump and I am certain that is a bee hive. For some reason my assault last night did not work. Wonder what to do next?
I wonder if the bugs are upset they took up residence in fiber glass insulation?

As soon as I take care of this I am going to seal up the walls with drywall and siding on the outside...then again...maybe I should just seal it up now.

Nerve agent (gas). The sane thing the military uses for an antidote is recommended on the packages of most.

I saw a program on disposing of killer bees. They use a power washer with a soap added to it. The soap kills them very quickly, covers up their bodies so they can't breathe.

Now I don't have a clue if it works on hornets.

i use the night approach, i have removed their nest with a broom or whatever is close by. But definitely at night...when its much cooler. I've also used a pressure washer with it on pencil beam mode. Cut the nest up...rapidly.

pressure washer.... for sure. i use it around my house every year. It knocks them down, the soap kills 'em. ...and you can stand back at a safe distance. On small one's I can get close to I use a spray can of WD-40 and a BIC lighter. LoL Works great on boat trailer tongues. or engine lifts with the square tubing.

Honest.

That's how I get rid of 'em./
