Honda Rancher 420 EFI
Anyone ride one of these yet? I am buying a new ATV in the near future for trail riding as well as snowplowing/salting in the winter. Salesman says that this machine is the way to go. Just looking for some feedback on them....

There's a few guys on Highlifter.com that have them- I havent seen anything posted negative. Back in Jan when I was shopping- it was the frontrunnner. But since they are (were) new, all the Honda dealers were only talking MSRP- I bought a (Black) 500 Suzuki Vinson for less.
Tough decision as I had awesome service from my old Honda. Good Luck- Drew

I have not yet rode the 420 EFI Rancher. I have rode several of the older Rancher AT's and they are a very solid bike. I have the 680 Rincon EFI and so far, its been flawless. Starts well in cold weather. My buddy's Rincon did have an issue with an air intake valve sticking on it, but it was replaced under warranty.

No experience on that 420...on the 450 yes. Honda makes a great ATV. Silky smooth operation and dependability is beyond all expectations. Friend of mine has this unit. Great ATV. Me, I ride a 700 polaris sportsman.

I understand the EFI Rancer is supposed to be nice, but if you are looking at plowing I'd be thinking about a 500 Foreman since they aren't much more money. If you are plowing in tight spots and prefer an automatic, I'd think Rubicon for it's easier shifing between forward and reverse.
I have a 500 Foreman which has been great, and just snagged a 680 Rincon- mainly for the smoother IRS ride.

So far I've only ridden mine from the back of my truck to the back of the toyhauler, but that will change next week when I've got a 5 day trip planned.
A friend I ride with has a 650 Rincon. It doesn't seem that snappy, doesn't have much for compression braking below about 8, but it does ride and handle well, particularly in choppy stuff at speed.
He's more than 10 years older than I am, but after back to back dawn to dusk days on rough trails he's ready to keep going and I'm ready for an advil...
IRS has it's advantages. No matter what your age, everyone becomes fatigued at some point, and with the Rincon it seems to come later.
Actually, I shoved two of those buggers around sideways to get them into my toyhauler yesterday and am kind of feeling it. I think there might be a widebody, or a monsterhauler/bumper pull in my future...
