That and the fact that most of these can't drive anyways, and it's a lost cause to run. I'm not saying that people don't get lucky and get away, but the huge majority are caught because they can't drive. They either crash in a curve or finally give up when they finally realize that they can't get away because they can't drive the corners. The ONLY chance they have is on a long straight road with no traffic, which is rare these days.

When Scotty had his dyno day in Calgary years ago, the local law enforcement, Truck devision, were invited.. Those guys were cool!! Put the pursuit truck on the rollers and one of the guys had a 6.5L to test as well. We set him loose on and unsuspecting contestant with an inspection of their truck.LOL...
The local town enforcement are good here to deal with..

Well we all know how to read a speed limit sign, so if you chose to push it, be prepared to pay the price
Last speeding ticket I got was in 85 on interstate 81 in Virginia. I got 3 in less than a month and decided that I just didn't want to pay the price any longer. I never held it against any Officer for any ticket I received, it was 100% MY FAULT all they were doing was their job.
I did have one Officer pull up next to me at a red light when I was in my Old Chrysler Volare. It had lap belts in it and he asked me if I was wearing my seat belt? (New State law). I thought about it for a second and decided there was no way he could see it if I wasn't so said "Yes".
He replied, You are a DANG Liar!...It is hanging out your door!

A few years back the Washington State Patrol had a few older Pontiac Firebirds, I knew of a red one and a black one, they were used up near the Canada/US border on I-5. Nailed a lot of speeding trucks coming down. Box5 and NWDave might have seen them.
They also had Dodge and Ford Pick ups. Clue is the WSP on the license plate.
Their out there, be careful.
