It's good to hear you guys are enjoying systems that Bose puts out. Both my son and I have large systems, my son has big electrostatics all the way around, while I have large conventional loudspeakers. But we both agree that dollar for dollar and for the extreme simplicity and space, it's tough to beat the Bose Lifestyle systems. You guys with the 38's....Are you using the hard drives to store your music? How do you find the uMusic feature? Do you use it at all? I'd be interested in getting feedback.

i've got a denon avr 5700 reciever and a B&W speaker's [2x 604s3's, 1x lcr6s3, 2x ds6's, 2x lm1, 2x asw300] i use to work for a small electronics shop that did lots of custom install work.. i think wireless is useless.. yeah it can be a pain to fish wires, but the end results are always better. if you have base boards around the room, they can help out a lot.. pull them back, and cut off the lower 2" of drywall and run your cables there, then fish up through the wall behind the base board and out behind the speaker. put your base boards back on and if done correctly, there will be no visiable wires for the rear speakers. you could do the same for the fronts if you are wall mounting stuff, but for floor standing towers, just get some beefy looking cable [12/14 or 12/12 biwire or regular 12g wire in a heavy jacket] and you can dress up the cables with some heat shrink and techflex cable covering to make them look more expensive..

I have a Sony 6:1 system that came out of the box with 6 speakers (front center, front right, front left, rear center, rear right, rear left) and a powered 10" sub. It also came with a 5 disc CD/DVD player. It was around $400 when I bought it.
It's certainly not top of the line, but it makes our movies come to life and it was reasonably priced for what I got with it.
