Help me choose a video camera!
Every year for our anniversary, rather than get each other individual gifts my wife and I buy something fun that we can both use together. A couple years ago we bought bikes, last year we bought a golf cart, and this year we want a video camera. Our son is about to turn 4 yrs old and I want to capture some of his childhood before it's too late. So I need a camera!
I don't plan on making a living with this camera so I don't need anything crazy, just something small and light that takes decent footage. I'm only looking to spend about $350. I won't be spending much time fooling with editing features so picture quality is more important than features and software.
So, does anyone have any recommendations?

That one looks pretty good. We have a Hitachi HX35 I think. It does a good job and looks almost identical to this one. The only thing that ours lacks is a
light, so in low light situations it isn't the greatest. It does have a backlight feature though that brightens things up quite a bit. I am pretty happy with ours, bought it "used" from a pawn shop on ebay. Saved a couple of hundred bucks, and still got a warranty.

That Hitachi looks like a nice unit for the price. I'll definately be considering it.
How important would you guys say a light is? Is it something that is rarely used or used a lot?
Thanks again for the help!
