Help with Internet issue
I have a year old Toshiba Laptop with Windows Vista on it. For some reason at least once if not a few times a day my browser will not work. It will say that it can't find the website on every site I try, yet my connection status is always connected and strong. Most of the time I can log off and then log back on and it will work, but other times it does it again within a minute or two of the log on and then I have to restart the whole thing to get it to work again. It's aggravating the crap out of us and I'm about ready to smash this thing and get a Mac. Anyone know what the root of the problem might be? Or should I just get ready to lauch it?

Not knowing which Toshiba laptop you have my guess is its over heating, I have a Toshiba Satellite that I've sent back twice because of this problem the problem was wide spread on some Toshiba's they even extended the warranty on some models to fix this problem
Make sure your vents are clean under the bottom of the laptop and open to airflow

Do not turn off phishing filters or you will have worse problems. Yes it takes longer to load pages but it makes it much more secure.
How are you on disc space? Low disc space will cause the symptoms you have

We have that problem when out ISP rotates our IP. We have to unplug the router for about a minute and then plug it back in. It syncs back up and all is good..............for a little while. There's also the possibility there is an issue with your ISP and the search is timing out. I'd bet this is the most likely scenario.

This usually works for me when it happens in XP. Go into the control panel and go into network connections. Right click on your internet connection and click on repair.

I don't think it's running too hot. This thing runs very cool, especially compared to an older laptop that this one replaced.
The message it is giving me is that it can't find the server. Once I restart, problem goes away. I'm sure at some point today it will happen again.

That really sounds like a glitch in the connection to your ISP. Happens alot when there's a bunch of new users and the ISP provider is approaching it's bandwidth limit, or the website you're trying to view has a bunch of other's looking at it.
