Has the world gone mad?

Last thursday one of my sister's dear friends went missing. 3 days later they found her shot in the head and buried 2 ft down in a construction site about a mile from where I grew up. They caught the guys who did it and when they asked why they did it they said because they wanted to watch her die and they had no remorse over it. The girl was 17 or 18 and was going to graduate this year. She was a big officer in FFA, the same one I was in, was loved by all, and had even been in my house. She apparently knew these two guys from highschool. The same highschool I graduated from and my sister graduated from. I grew up in a nice neighborhood where the biggest crime was a street sign being stolen. Has the world gone insane? What would cause a person to want to shoot another person in the head just out of curiosity? I guess I just don't understand why some people do what they do. The kid that shot her is only 18 and graduated last year. His accomplice is in michigan trying to get the trial in canada or something like that. I can't even begin to imagine how the parents of this poor girl must feel. The thing I can't believe is that the scum's parents even hired the kid a lawyer. WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?! If yall's kid shot someone in cold blood just for fun would you hire them a lawyer? Sorry for the rant but this one hit close to home cause my sister is exactly like this girl was, head strong and felt safe absolutely anywhere and I'm afraid that she might end up like her.

Should even be a trial....kill them right there, and make it hurt. We need to start making examples in the country and stop being so kind to everyones rights. THey lost there rights when they took away someone elses......Sorry for the loss.

Sorry to hear about the great loss. I know how you feel I had a really good friend pass in high school from a gun shot. But this is way I have guns.

Well the only consolation is what the inmates will do to those two kids in the shower " out of curiosity". In a word Yep! The world has gone mad.

Wow, I grew up in a small town like that also and I can't imagine what it would be like if that happened! Sorry for your loss Blue! Almost sounds like we are reverting to wild west days...

I'm sorry for your loss!

By the same token if it had been one of my kids there would be no need for a trial, as the defendant(s) would not have made it to trial.

I'd conviently be out of town when it happened.

Well, I firmly believe that the world always has been mad, just to keep things in perspective.

It's always unnerving when somebody that you only slightly know has something terrible happen to them. I was shocked a few months ago when I learned that a girl I went to school with, who I have known since being a toddler but had only seen every couple of months, was bedridden with a disease. For some reason I'm not affected by deaths of grandparents or others who I know marginally well; rather, it's the people who you just know as static and pleasant that shock you with their misfortunes.

I am sympathetic for you.

Thanks for the sympathy yall but please don't pray for me. Pray for the parents of the little girl who will never get to see her graduate or go to prom or go to college all because some tool decided that she was better off dead. At least they didn't rape her before they killed her. Lord help them if they try the insanity plea cause then yall will be reading about me on the 6 o'clock news. I'm gonna try and catch some sleep. Thanks again yall.

Sorry to hear about that Blue, I understand what you, your sister and friends from high school are probably going through. When I was in high school a few years ago we had an out break of violence in our student body and their were a few kids that either we killed by their own hand or by other either by accident or on purpose and it touched everyone especailly since I'm from a small town. Our worst was 2 years ago after i was out of college a kid went through my high school with a machete and a bone saw hacking at class mates and people I knew, luckily no one was killer there. But I understad the pain you and you friends are feeling. Hopefully they get what is coming to them. If they were my children that did that I would not stand behind them one bit, i would definately not provide them with a lawyer no matter what. If they were my kids i probably would wonder if I could have done something to prevent this or whatever.

Here's a less wasteful and almost poetic solution: upon conviction after a fair and speedy trial, part them out to people who are in need and actually deserving of healthy vital organs. It probably wouldn't have discouraged these two, but it serves a dire public need and cuts WAY down on repeat offenders!

My condolences to BigBlue's sister and her friend's family, their suffering is not over.

Yes. This sick world is crawling with evil.

...and get this....According to FortBendNow.com

"Whoever fired the shot, neither suspect is likely to be charged with capital murder in the killing. Law enforcement officials say circumstances of the case don’t appear to meet legal tests necessary to bring capital murder charges, such as committing other crimes in addition to the murder."

Yes, it often takes a situation that affects us personally to make us wake up and ask the questions:

Why am I in this basket?
Why is it getting hotter?
And, why does it smell like brimmstone?

However, when the world seems to be going to hades in a handbasket, then is the challange to each of us to stand tall and keep a positive outlook and add what ever light we can on an otherwise dark event.

Rich.

Unfortunately America has gotten exactly what it has asked for! Certain groups of people started pushing VERY hard to get God, common decency, Truth and moral values changed in the USA and elesewhere. Many and various perversions were pushed as right and good, and those things never before accepted in this country became common place little by little.

The incredible violence of Hollywood movies which trade decency and the value of human life for thrills and box office bucks are a prime example. MTV has made huge profits off of gang violence, murder, rape etc. Only about 30 years ago language was carefully controlled in movies and TV as was violence, sexual perversions, drug use etc. Now it is glorified and stuffed down America's gaping throats.

Yes, one may scream and shout and shake their fists about 'Separation of Church and State' but the results are crystal clear! That supposed tenet of law regarding separation was extracted from a PRIVATE LETTER written by Thomas Jefferson. I have a copy of it in my possession and it was an answer to another letter. When viewed with a rational mind and an understanding of the English language it is clearly seen that the meanng has been twisted 180 degrees! It was insisting that the state never control free expression of personal religious beliefs, and that an official 'State Chruch' should never come to exist, and that the state should keep their nose out of people's spritual business.

You cannot pilot a ship without a compass and rudder. Neither can you pilot a country on its social/cultural journey without a moral compass to plot the course. The Compass has been tossed overboard, maniacs are fighting for the helm, the passengers sit in deck chairs onboard amusing themselves with various diversions and the ship of state is headed for the rocks and hidden reefs on the shores of a place of death and destruction while the 'politicians' serve themselves another plate full of greed and corruption.

I believe that it is NOT TOO LATE TO CHANGE THINGS! But WHEN will folks finally get so fed up with these loonies pushing for 'Rights' that don't exist and which 'Rights' are destroying our country and its people and kick them out of places of power and influence? The answer is simple: about 5 minutes after too late, and the clock is ticking down to the hour.....

Not that I disagree with you, but this is not a political debate. We don't want this to get locked so try and leave that stuff out (however true it may be).

Blue,

This is one of the saddest things I've heard in a while. One of my friends little sister got raped in high school and that tore all of us up (not as bad as the guy that did it) I can't imagine how this must be. Justice is usually served in the end whether it be by the courts or something else (lake of fire). We as a whole country need to show people that this kind of thing will not be tolerated. I'm tired of hearing about things like this. Thats why I don't watch the news anymore. I hope this girl's family survives this.
