This has to be a scam,, rite??

My brother is looking for a different truck and came accross this add for a 06 Tacoma 4dr for $4500. It is mint with low miles but way to cheap. We figured it must be a misprint,, probobly forgot a 1 or 2 in front of the number. So I emailed him asking if it was a misprint or what and he emailed back saying no it was a botme line doller amount he needed out of the truck because he is getting divorsed and has moved to Scottland and can not ship the truck overseas. Here is the add he found and the emails sent back and forth. I am very certain its a scam but thought I would run it past you guys for the heck of it.

I found your 06 Toyota on Craigslist and am wondering why the price is so cheap? Is it a misprint or is there something wrong with the truck thats not listed? If the price listed is correct I am very interested in the truck. How many miles are on the truck? Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry for the delayed response, but I'm in Glasgow (Scotland) right now and I have been very busy.Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying the car. The car is located in US right now and has US papers. Why is the price so low? I am going trough a divorce, and I had to move out of USA I cannot register the car here, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards. So all that I want to do now is to sell the car at this price, because I need to sell it fast(I already made a deposit here to buy me another). The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the car in the States.

I will tell you a few words about the car..

My 2006 Toyota Tacoma with automatic transmission it is in immaculate condition with 18,509 Miles and have the VIN number: 5TEUU42N16Z148284 , rust free , no scratch and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well( 4.0L 6 cyl). The interior looks great(NO SMOKING).This car needs nothing, the title is clear ,it is not a salvage one.
I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tones of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. a genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me.

Here are all the photos of my car. The pictures are recent, and they were taken right before preparing the car for sale.
The car is exactly as shown in the pictures: http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/e...otatacoma2006/

The price is $4,500.00 USD THIS IS MY LAST PRICE.I will not negotiate the price.I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car ,to be sure that I don't waist my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions .

So if you are interested please email me back for next step.

Regards !!

~~ Jefferson Andrew ~~

Something stinks to high heaven with this. I havent replied back to him and am not going to but I would imagine it would entail sending money out of the country.

Run, don't walk in the opposite direction. You're absolutely correct.

Run, Forrest Run..........

I e-mailed a guy who was "selling" a 2 year old 4 wheeler for $2,500 that should sell for 4-5 grand.

He responded that he was in Finland, and would ship it to me for free , All I needed to do was to contact his "Shipper", send them the money, and give them my info.

Riiiiiiiiight.

Googled the info in the add a found out that same 4 wheeler (pictures-description-but at a higher price) was on Ebay.
These thieves just "borrow" someone else's information and use it as bait.

And if they type weird. I had one do it to me before when I sold my ol Ford. Would only email, no phone conversation. When I said I had to talk to him on the phone, he had a relay service call me. If it makes you uncomfortable, don't go for it, there usually is a catch (a nasty one).

Ya I havent taken it any farther. I figured it was a scam but thought I would check and see if it was an honest typo. As soon as I got the email back I knew buy the fact that it was the actual price and the bad gramer that it was a scam.

My wife tried to sell a $600 ring on craigslist a few weeks ago. SO far we have had three people want it ( from over seas of course ). One guy sent eight $500 travelers checks, another lady she has been emailing sent a check for 2,000 pounds from England and another guy sent a check for $4,800... HELLO the ring is only $600.
Yeah, We will send you the ring and the difference. I'll get that right out in the mail to you guys... As soon as I buy my ocean front property in Arizona.

The one good thing about this is that my little daughter now has eight $500 travelers checks to play with ...
