Had a senior moment today.....
Senior or senile, one of the two. It was storming, wind, rain, I backed the trailer in, hurried, dropped it, disconnected, and headed to town in a hurry. Got to the main highway, ground reverse real bad. Played with the gear lever, got it back in gear hit the throttle, when to shift and would not go into third and forth. Now holding up traffic, pulled over and stopped. Considered what could be wrong with the trans started to worry, then it hit me what was wrong. So I put it in 2 high and went on down the road....

Yup, those "senior moments" are tough. In a pouring rain I backed the 5th wheel into its covered storage site, got out, chocked it, put down the front landing legs, opened the hitch jaws and took off the breakaway switch cable, dropped the tailgate, and got back into the truck. There was a water puddle right ahead of the truck, so I said to myself, "Self, if you'll pull about 12 feet or so forward, you won't have to climb out in standing water."
Everything worked fine until I hit the end of the 5th wheel's umbilical cord that was still connected to the 7-pin connector in the bed of the truck!
