Had a close look at a 03 PSD Monday
Northbound thru Hamilton ON on Hwy 8 (in KW grossing 79400) when said PSD pulled out of parking space 30 ft in front of me gunned next 50 ft to intersection, slapped on brakes and left turn signal . Missed him by about 18 inches.
(Note to Hoss: Stuff like this is why trucks are often seeming to be inconsiderate, Every 3rd time I move over on the Interstate to let some 4 whlr onto the slab, the brain-dead being behind the wheel {note no mention of driver} will then accelerate up to the exact same speed as I am running and then run in my blind spot until h*** freezes.) That is why trucks don't move over as readily as they used to. Isn't really inconsiderate, more survival technique refinement.

Yea, that is what used to happen to me too. Those idiots will do anything to get in front of a truck. Shoot, I even have that problem when I have a trailer on. I never did understand why I had a guy (from Ont.) pass me when I was going 65mph on a two lane during a downpour so he could go 50 mph after the bottom of the hill. I finally passed him and never saw him again.

I had a close look at a 02 stroke - just had to look into my rear view mirror since I was towing it (and the holiday trailer it was towing)....

I never once implied that all truckers are inconsiderate drivers, but you have to admit that some of them (and some non-truckers as well) definitely think that they own the road and everyone else doesn't have any right of way.
For instance, driving back from Abilene recently I'm cruising at 75 MPH in the left hand lane. I'm approaching a truck in the right hand lane from the rear. I expect he was probably doing about 73 MPH as I was slowly gaining on him. Just as I'm passing him, he suddenly turns his signal on and starts coming over....leaving me two options....take the ditch or slam on my brakes. I managed to slow down enough that he BARELY missed the front of my truck with the rear of his trailer. I changed to the right lane (which was perfectly clear by the way....with no entrance ramp....and no cars on the shoulder that the trucker may have wanted to avoid) and passed the truck on the right. Normally I would think he just didn't see me, but I saw him look at me in his mirror just before he changed lanes. Now...aside from just being a jerk, what was the reason for that? He had no need to change lanes. :

Hoss,, You need more ponies under the hood.
Then you could have said, take the ditch, hit the brakes, or passed him.
Personally, I would have stabbed the fuel, and passed him, leaving him with some serious smoke in his way so he could ponder about life.

I considered that for a brief moment, then decided I had a better shot at hitting the brakes than I did at passing him before he hit me. Considering how close he got, I don't think I would have made it if I'd punched it.

Just a hint: If you are in Royersford PA on a friday at about 4:00pm, Don't bother trying to get to Claymont DE by 5:30. This is not a happening thing.
Next time I'll know. :P :

No...but if you've ever made that drive you know that you practically get run over for ONLY going 5 over the speed limit. : Long, flat roads make people drive awfully fast.

I realize that....just like I realize that there are also professional drivers who actually drive like professionals.

Abilene's in Texas, right?
I've driven I-35 from Kansas City to San Antonio, and crossed the panhandle on I-40 after a huge snowstorm.
