"The Rifleman"

I love that show. Too bad. What a great old rifle.

I had a Winchester 30/30 but I never could get that Chuck Conners Rifleman sling & chamber a bullet into the chamber down.

Essentially, Winchester gun sales are low because 90% of all the Winchester's ever made are still in working condition.

Stupid company put themeselves out of buisness because they made too good of a product.

Too bad, too bad, too bad...

I've got an old 30/30 that my dad passed down to me that came from his dad. Story goes that grampa traded an old swayback horse for it back when he was just 11 years old. Best rifle I own and by far the straightest shooting rifle even with old iron sights. Guess it just became worth a little more.

Guess some Chinese company will buy the rights and will produce the old 'thudy thudy' again.
But I still prefer my Marlin 336 over the 94 any day.

Does anyone think it would be a wise investment to buy a 94 model still made in the U.S. before they can't be found? I haven't seen a 94 model .22 in year, but still see the 30/30 around.

I have a 30/30 Marlin lever action, but would like to have a 94 model Winchester if they aren't going to be made anymore...

i have a Winchester 94 and a Marlin 1895....loved Chuck COnnors in rifleman and John Wayne with his 1873 spinning it with the loop lever in TRUE GRIT and a couple others. So after wanting one for more than a decade I checked my finances and determined I could not really afford one now and went this morning after hearing this on NRA Radio (Sirius)...and bought a Winchester M70 Classic Featherweight in 7mm-08. LOL I have wanted a Win M70 ever since I first fired my dads pre-64 M70 in 308 back in early 70s.
Been putting it off for years....but finally went and did it today. I will pay for it with the wife...but hopefully it will just appear in my gun safe..plus I am saving it for my grandkids....LOL

I am sure they will bring them back in limited numbers again....but will likely have a Japan or Belgium stamp...most likely Japan...so wanted to make sure mine said New Haven on her.

Olin apprently is not happy with factory being shut by USRA so they are not going to renew license to name they have through end of this year so maybe someone else will buy the factory and name and keep some of the names going...lets hope at least.

The solution is soooo simple.
Just have the guys that design/program the next edition of the Grand Theft Auto video game make a couple of the bad guys carry Winchesters.
They'll be flying off the shelves.

This is very sad. I have always wanted a Winchester 30-30, and now it looks like I will never get my hands on a new one unless I pay to much for it.

I wouldn't be too concerned I had a bunch of them here and couldn't give them away. No kidding a used one in like new condition would sit on the rack at $75.00 they just didn't hold their value, nobody wanted them.

Lot's of them out there, you should be able to find a used one at a good price.

I dont suspect the prices will start jumping until February before the March shutdown....so buy them now on used racks, at gun shows or order a new one. I love every weapon I own...and will love the new M70 Classic Featherweight the same as the rest of my children...LOL
