growling the CTD at the Hemi guys

had the CTD out this weekend, was nice out, everyone had windows down, enjoying spring.

saw this nice Hemi Dodge at a cross road at a red lite, his kid was in back seat, prolly old enough to drive. nice burgundy & tan quad cab, kid rolled his eyes at me "our truck is a HEMI and is MUCH cooler than YOUR truck"

you reckon? I idled around the right turn, and FLOORED it right past him. let the strait pipe growl.

looked back the kid was hanging out the window, staring after us!!

priceless, who's cool now!?

Glad one of the truck drivers was an adult!

i went to the local "race" hang out last night...being as i am 19...and all my friends drive little rice burning 17 second cars i tend to not act as i should...well i had a set of stock wheels and tires on (stockers from my old man's 04.5 cummins) and with my approximate 800+tq...i couldnt hook up at all.

the ricers were amazed at me losing traction at the top of 4th gear on dry roads...the jaw dropping stares were great. Some of my friends then started asking people to race my truck and everyone kept backing down

I my butt whipped every time I try race someone in a CTD. They are all 5 spds and mine is a auto. It sad. What can I do to beat them besides bombing? I mean like driving techniques?

Are you telling me that the 5 speeds out run your automatic? Maybe I need some driving tips too. I race my 6 speed all the time and get my doors burned off by the auto-driving pansies! Maybe I need to unload some crap out of my truck and drop some weight!

Heck yeah, I hold them for the first few seconds, the wham, they pass me up by a few truck lengths. Its like I put it to the floor and I get high RPMs but not enough speed to justify the RPMs in my opinion. I guess its just the nature of the beast?

4x4dually,
"auto-driving pansies", are you seriously opening yourself up to the amount of hell you may catch from other CTD owners?

No. I'm sure they know I'm just joking because I can't out run them. If I was really worried, I'd unload the extra thousand pounds of crap my truck hauls around. I gross #8350 on a normal day. I just like giving them heck becuase my granddad drives an auto! However, autos are a lot more safe when it comes to not spilling your malted pepsi!
