Green Egg... who's got one?
I'm thinking about buying a extra large green egg grill. Does anybody have one? What do you like or dislike about it? I'm not sure I want to spend 1 grand on the grill and the nest and accesories. All I heard is how good they are... but that was coming from the salesman. Thanks.

I have 3 of them . . 2 large and 1 small . They are incredible cooking machines . I would suggest a large unless you are constantly going to cook for a larger crowd . There are a lot more accessories availible for a large and it will burn less charcoal . Feel free to ask any questions as I have been cooking on mine for 10 years now .

I used to sell them. I've talked to people who have bought one from me and they all thought it was the best thing they've ever done with their life. The porcelain has a lifetime warranty and the metal parts have 10 yr warranty on them. I have cooked on them too and its a real experience.

Yes 10 years . . . They have an incredible warranty program in case of any problems . . . simply talk to a dealer and replacement parts will be provided . They are without a doubt the most versatile cooker I have ever used . . . from steaks at 700 * to pizzas at 500 * to low and slow pork at 250 * for 20 hours . I bake bread in mine or can cold smoke cheese . . . quite the machine . Best time to get one is at a local eggfest where they are sold at reduced prices for pre-registered people after the fest is over . Been cooked on for that day only and can save about $200 on a large egg .

I went to an eggfest. I was asked to be a judge for the cook-off. I had some amazing meats off of the egg. Anything from seafood to hotdogs. One guy even cooked funnel cakes. Another lady made dog biscuits.... and yes... as a judge we had to try one. Yuk!!! I think i'm gonna bite the bullet and buy one. I just hope someone dont "need" it more than me and steal it from my deck! I want to get the nest and the accesories. I know it will be over a grand but it sounds like its worth it. Thanks for the replies!!

Just remember they are heavy . . . a large is probabley close to 125lbs and rather bulky . . . . so . . not that easy to just walk away with . Enjoy and feel free to email me if you have any questions about the egg or any desired eggcessories . Check out the egg forum at eggheadforum.com for a ton of great advice and info on eggfests .

I have one more question.. I live on a hill and it gets really windy sometimes. Does the wind or cold temps have any influence on how it cooks? My gas grill will blow out sometimes.
