Yes, it has been warm, but we had rain on Friday night into Saturday morning this past weekend and that really got them talking, I used a hoochie mama cow call and it brought him off the mountain. I shot him at around 615 in the evening... I was up around 9,000 feet according to my Garmin Rhino 530HCx, I know the lookout tower is at 9,220 feet.

Cool, they are going pretty heavy here right now. I gave up bow hunting for a while now but plan to pick one up again as my kids have gotten older. The 9 year old is the oldest and he's itching to go. I still rifle hunt but I miss bow hunting, hearing the calls and grunts gets your blood pumping. It's tough to take the little dudes during rifle season when there's a couple feet of snow and it's below freezing.

Thanks guys! The specs on the bow are, 2008 TomKat 71LBS 28" Draw, used a 75 Muzzy, 286 FPS with the field tips 375 grain arrow. I have the Octane one piece quiver, Octaine 11.5 3D Hunter stabilizer, True Glow .19 7 pin sights and rip cord drop away rest and love to shoot!!! I also have a Admrial, but just got it and haven't had the time to set it up the way I want for hunting, talk about smooooth and quiet.... Anyway, he was coming down the trail and using my Nikon archers choice range finder I ranged him at 39.6 yards, I hit his coraded artery and both lungs and he bleed internailly pretty quick, he didn't even run, just stood there like what was that.... It was getting dark so I was like c*** did I hit him good? Next thing I knew he looked like he was drunk and then BAM!!! CRASH!! He went down, I'll never forget the sound. I slowly backed away and called my dad on the radio and told him to bring the field bags and lantern, we have our work cut out for us. Sence it was opening day, once we got everything out, we spent the 5 days kickin it, riding 4 wheelers and just being lazy... Thanks again for the comments and Shovelhead for redoing my picture. "Boostjunkie" you put in and get drawn I'll guide.... Anyone for that matter, Unit 16A, but only 100 tags are givin for the 3rd hunt...

With this warmer weather here now, they have shut up, but in a few weeks they should be hot and heavy with these cooler nights we're having.

Sounds like you have a nice set up, but after this hunting season is over try a Rip Cord drop away rest and you'll ask your self way you put up with a whisker bisket.... My Tomkat came with a whisker bisket and it kept ripping my vanes off my arrow's and I was getting frustrated so tried the rip cord and have one on my two bows and wifes Razor's Edge... I found myself shooting even tighter groups and 20 and 30 yards splitting arrows...
Man, you guys should see the Special edition SWAT on Bowtech's web site! All flat black with custom Octane stabilizer, put a black rip cord and some .19 spot hoggs and what a rig that would be....
