I can imagine that is a 1965 GM Diesel? Attaching the name "Diesel" to that hunk of garbage is a sin. (Well, I don't know what they had in particular, but I don't think they had a 'good' Diesel until the 6.2...)
Only experience with GM Diesels was that one I was going to swap one into my '65 Suburban. I figured I'd find a Stock Toroflow Diesel engine and do the swap, just so I could have a Diesel...
I dropped that idea because too many people were (literally) giving the engines away for free, freight only... After about the fifth guy that said, "You want to pay me for that piece of junk? HAHAHA!" I began to realize that they really didn't make Diesel engines in '65.
So I bought a 1990 Dodge Ram 250.
Don't worry guys, I'm going to wedge a 5.9 (or 3.9, at least) into a Gremlin. Just wait until I graduate school, college and find a job sometime, maybe even go into the military... Back burner, now. Then I have to get a house, find a wife, have kids...

Begle, I got to hand it to you, you have an imagination. Not much common sence, but an imagination.

Everybody needs a ridiculously huge engine in a tiny car... If I recall, Pontiac started doing that with a GOAT or TOGO or GOTO or something like that, just caused a footnote in American history...
It seems to me people just don't like AMC in general...
I could do it "easy" (i.e. with a large monetary budget) with a 4BT, Jeep front-end and Gremlin with a body lift, and with some "firewall modifications" a 6BT could fit in there too.

oh, I agree... little car + big engine = fun! and I'm also redneck enough to love 4x4 cars... I've built a lot of hotrods w/ the old Ford Fairmonts... I've had like 10 of them... anyhow, one of the coolest ones I ever owned was a '78 wagon that was set on a stretched 69 Bronco chassis. 351/C4, 33x12.50 muds on black steel wheels... I built some BBQ black side pipes for it. it turned LOTS of heads! LOL!
I've been wanting to put a 5.9 in a car for a while now, but not ready to drive from the back seat!

It'd be cool in an old Cadillac or something like that. Old El Dorado with some giant sideliners and big bull horns on the front, or even better- a El Camino with the same stuff, Dana 80 rear axle, 5th wheel and four wheel drive...
