After doing some googling I found that over 200 pellets in one shot is not out of the question. But I do not think it is irresponsible to suggest he was shot more than once. How many times when a bird goes up do you pull both trigers when you dont see fethers the first time? I've never hunted quail, so I dont know about it. And I do know about firearms, with my dad having his FFL and having over 30 different guns in the house. Unfortunately I haven't had a reason to read up on reloading shot guns like I have for reloading rifles.

ive never counted pellets in number 8`s or 9`s....but my gun can put 277 pellets in a 20 inch circle at 40 yards with a number 6 shot...there are even more pellets in a shell as the number goes up(for the ones that know about these things)......200 pellets out of a bird load wouldnt even be close to total number at all.and with a gun that patterns even pretty decent,at 30 yards, you would really take the brunt of it..................bama

O.K. all this talk is well and good BUT the fact remains that if this attorney dies as a result of the shooting, be it a heart attack because of a pellet or any other cause attributed to the shooting, the vice president could be charged, possibly with manslaughter.

That may or not be true as in this case even the victim say's it was an accident.

Comeon now guys....If the victim dies somebody is ultimately responsible reguardless of what position he holds in public office. Or can they sweep that under the rug also. In my mind it is still a case of negligent discharge of a firearm and there is no getting around it. Going back to my military training....what ever you point your rifle at you mean to Kill....

Are you saying Cheney meant to kill his friend?

Cheney has said he is responsible, but everything points to the fact that it was an accident.

No thats not what I said or meant. It is a terrible thing ....I know two guys that shot and killed their buddies and they never have gotten over the guilt. None the less they are still responsible for the accident.
