Question GMC Yukon

I test drove a Yukon today. The wife and I are thinking about getting rid of her jetta for something a little bigger. Does any one have one of thes or know of common problems? We are looking at a 4x4 5.3 liter.

No it will not replace my truck she just is tired of getting in a truck that is always very dirty. No she dosen't want a new truck I have already tried. I vaccumed almost 2 gallons of dirt out of it this weekend . I just don't have time to keep it as clean as some of you guys. That and I hate spending 2 hours cleaning the truck and then the next day back out tracking mud all over it. Gott to earn a living though.

My dad just bought one a couple months ago. It's a 2003 Yukon with about 3,000 miles on it. No problems yet and it's a pretty cool. I like it. Its got a lot of power. Hes got the 5.3 as well. If you wanna know anything in particular ask and I'll see what I can find out for ya.

My dad has had one for several years now (5 I think). I think it has around 110k on it and as far as I know it hasn't had any problems.

Both the Yukon and the Tahoe are exceptional vehicles in my opinion. GM easily takes the cake in gas engines when it comes to putting you back in your seat and gas mileage (compared to Ford and Dodge...don't know about the others). I would buy one.

I like those Yukon Denali's. A Cadillac Escalade without that hideous front end.

I have owned 1 reg yukon short and 1 yukon XL (suburban) If you have a choice the long version is by far a better vehical , much better ride. mine was a 1/2 ton 2000 and I really liked it had 70,000 on it when I sold it. The 5.3 liter motor pulled my 6300 lb boat O.K. and I pulled a 29' travel trailer with it a couple of times with a load leveling hitch. The 1/2 ton was sufficient to do it just add some air shocks to level the ride. The 3/4 were by far not very good riding as compared. The 5.3 was much more fuel minded that my buddies 6.1 ltr. (i think) the oly problem I had was the rear windows (power) had to have the switches on both replaced and the rear emerg. brake hung up and had to get new rear rotors. If you have someone that can get an employee discount you can get a good deal on a new one , under dealer invoice. anybody you know work for saturn there in Tenn.

BlackJack I do not know any one that works for GM but you did make me realize that my wife through TVA gets the same discount or something really close. The first thing to go is the mind unfortunatley I am only 29 . I really appreciate the info. I am goign to have to go with the Yukon not the XL she dosen't want the extra size. I am glad to know that it will pull some if I need to. Thanks Tom
