Give me a flipping break!!! Woman up and be a parent!

This is the biggest boat load of irresponsible parenting and frivolous use of our legal system that I've seen in a long time. Just learn to say the word "NO" once in a while and stop looking for another handout from the court system.

Just another BS lawsuit to tie up the court system for how ever long and slow the system down even more.

Unfortunately things like this will never go away because the lawyers won't let them. They are the reason that most of this crap goes on. The more stupid the lawsuit and the longer they can drag it out, the more they make.

And yes, the mom in the story needs a slap on the head for wasting resources. But again, they are looking for a handout as you say and will probably get something out of it.

I'm sure I speak for most if not all on this board but I control my kids not the other way around and McChunkies is usually not on the menu.

I agree Rad, I like the one lady who says, "you gonna be the parent or let the kids run you". I've got three kids, they see Mc D's commercials and never have they whined, cried or thrown fits about wanting to go to McDonalds and if they did I'm thinking that if I sue McDonalds that is not going to stop them. Besides that, if they did cry and carry on they'd never see the inside of any restaurant again until they moved out at least.

Seems like more of the same ol' bs, government take care of my kids so I don't have to be responsible and do it. Point the finger at McDonalds and say it's your fault, not mine as a parent because I can't say no and have spoiled my kids. The lady behind the lawsuit is just more proof that you can't fix stupid.

Wow, that's pretty sad. I hope when lawsuits like this are unsuccessful, the plaintiffs can be forced to pay all the legal costs. Maybe that would make them think twice about abusing the legal system.

Hey, this woman thinks she's NORMAL. In her world, at least. If she's
getting a check, and her mother got a check........ she's accustomed
to getting something for nothing. So I blame the government for this
mentality.

The story I read stated the woman is suing in order to get McDonalds to get rid of the toys, or offer healthier food. So, while I agree it is a stupid lawsuit that wastes everyone involveds time and resources, get the facts straight. Also, it may be different in a class action suit, but normally the loser would have to pay lawyers and court fees.

The only fact I stated was that she thinks she's normal. The rest was if.....
Here's the last paragraph from an article in The Atlantic:
Monet Parham, by the way, seems to be an activist employed by the California government to advocate the ingestion of vegetables, though some pains seem to have been taken to obscure this connection. Our founding fathers are no doubt spinning in their graves fast enough to provide cheap, clean, renewable power to the entire Atlantic seaboard.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest is the consumer group
sueing McDonalds, according to the same article. I doubt if Mz. Parham
pays a penny, win or lose.

They should give the choice of the toy with happy meal or salad bar, then the weak minded lazy parents who don't want to cook will have nothing to say.

BeFitz, my comment was really directed at the couple guys who think she is suing for money. Not at you. And I never said she would pay, I said the loser would, in this case the activist group. But I could be wrong.

Hey flytrap, all that aside, I think we all agree that it's a frivolous lawsuit.

Yup! As a kid in the sixties we were bombarded by ads on TV and toys in cereal boxes. My parents had no problems saying NO. Just like I had no problems saying NO to my kids and I would usually explain why I said no. My kids are in their early thirties and are just fine even though they never were given a Happy Meal even once.

whether she is sueing or not, if she don't like the food then stay at home and cook your kids up a good homemade burger with some steroid pumped store bought beef, cut up some of your own french fries from pesticide coated store bought potatoes and then you can run down to the one buck store and pick up one of those toxic painted, lead made toys from China and all is well.

Same parents can get roudy at sporting events and assault other parents and officials, but let their kids walk all over them and call the shots. Can't use the same "strength" to keep the kids in line. Never ceases to amaze me.

Suing a company because they don't offer the food YOU want??? Does that mean I can sue the lawer's because they will no longer offer what I want???

GIVE ME A BREAK!!! If you don't like what they offer stay the heck out and go somewhere else. When are people gonna realize every time they allow the government to dictate choices, we lose more freedom.

Plain and simple solution. The judge should tell these morons if you don't like what is offered, go somewhere else or start their OWN company that offers what THEY think the public wants. When they fail, they can shut up and go home. If they don't fail they will create competition in the market place which is better for everyone, including themselves.

And by the way, anyone can sue anyone for no cost. They lawyers only get paid if they win. This is what breeds activism in the courts. And allows precedents to be set which remove our freedoms daily. The only thing that will come out of this is the government getting more and more control over our individual freedoms.

How refreshing would it be to see this woman and the organizations behind her lambasted and humiliated in public and made an example of.

And while the judge is at it maybe a good beating for the kids as well.
