$7,225. I think I was still laughing when I hung up the phone.
What are these things made out of?

sounds like a good deal! you'd think w/ the buying power that OEM's have, they might try to get in on some of this money, but I guess they don't want the liability of warrantying something that have NO idea how the **** it operates

I called a local dealer today, and priced a stock Flywheel $640.00. The master cylinder and slave cylinder set-up was $415.00.
thanked the parts guy for his time, and hung up the phone laughing.

We rag on our parts department all the time, cause I do side work and see how much it costs me, cash I get it pretty cheap. But then you see how much they sell it to joe customer....we always rag on them about their 300% mark-up, sometimes I think it's true. You think a $640 flywheel is bad? How about an ac compressor for a Catera, $900 or the Ac/heater computer in the dash for a Catera, $500 and we had another ac compressor on the Sevilles, $1100!!! Dealers make an, bad word here Killing!!!

I used to have a buick regal and my horn button got stuck. Well, it is integrated into the air bag so I have to buy the center of the steering wheel. I asked how much the parts guy said "you don't wanna know." $700 for a broken HORN BUTTON!!! I got a $3 button at radio shack and fixed it myself.
