Kan. Church Plans To Picket Child Funerals

TOPEKA, Kan. -- A controversial Kansas church is changing its protest plan after an incident in Oklahoma last week.Members of the Westboro Baptist Church said they want revenge after someone slashed the tires on their van during visit to protest a military funeral in McAlester. The group said it plans to now target funerals for Oklahoma children.The group said it planned to picket the funeral of an 8-year-old Burneyville girl who died in an accident at the Love County Fairgrounds last week, although no protesters were seen near the services. The group said it would be in Owasso on Thursday to protest the funeral of a girl who died in a car crash.The Westboro Baptist Church's website now reads "God Hates Oklahoma" and "The Lord curses them by killing Oklahoma's children and casting them into hell. Thank God for more dead children in Oklahoma."

Wow, spreading the Gospel one mean protest at a time. I don't think this is what Jesus had in mind.

That being said, they ought to give the person(s) a medal for slashing the tires on these crap lickers' van. That's funny stuff. Who knew it would be that easy to fill up a parking lot to get them to stop. I still laugh everytime I think of them showing up after driving 100's of miles and then the main guy just says, rats we're foiled there is no parking. Oh well, let's just get a motel and leave in the morning. Who was the genius who thought up to take all of the parking and actually have everyone think it would work. I would have said the was the dumbest crap I've heard of but it worked.

I saw the pictures from the McAlester funeral and they were definitely outnumbered by Patriot Guard and local citizens. They basically retreated back to their van after they realized that their voices weren't being heard over everyone else.

I just wonder if they actually believe the craziness they're spewing or if they're just starved for attention??

I know Freedom of Speech is a good thing in principal but I also don't believe it was ever intended for something like this. We have to stop the insanity in this country, being Politically correct all the time is a big stinking pile of Horse hockey.

It wouldn't surprise me if it happened, lots of other wacko's out there and all it would take is one to be upset over this issue.

I hope that doesn't happen, I would feel sorry for the people that follow that fool blindly because they think it is what God wants.

I don't know if there is a Hell or not, but if there is then that guy has a front row seat reserved in his name for Eternity.

I had a nice chat with the Patriot Gaurd when I was in Cali last week. they escorted the buses to the rally point when my son came home from afghanistan. The Riders I spoke with got so mad just talking about it and they honestly said it would be hard VERY HARD not to start kicking some tail. It angers me to no end and I get so mad when I hear about things like this and the stupid people doing the protesting. I dont' know if I could keep my cool at all if it ever happened here in these parts.

Watching the Riders escort the buses was a tear jerker. Talk about getting choked up. I SURE DID!
