Fuel Capacity
I hate asking silly questions but here goes.........
My LWB is supposed to have either a 35 or 36 gallon fuel tank. However, (it seems) I always top-off around 25 gallons. Does this mean that when the needle is on the red you still have 10 gallons? ???
You guy's go easy on me if that was a real boneheader!

Re:Fuel Capacity
I always have been puzzled by that one. I thought maybe somthing was wrong, took it back to the dealer and was told that it sounded normal. Anyway, I've driven the beast until my Distance to Empty has read 0! Then for about 10 more miles. I still only got 30 gal into it. I guess the fine folks at Dodge figure that most of us normal consumers are too stupid to read a fuel gauge, even if they put a chime and light attached to it. :-X

Re:Fuel Capacity
Same here, although I try to never let it go below 1/4 tank.
As the injection pump is cooled by diesel fuel, the lower the fuel mass in the tank, the hotter the diesel fuel running through the pump.
Running out of fuel in a diesel is very bad for the injection pump.

Re:Fuel Capacity
Since my fiasco started several weeks ago--bad transfer pump, now in the shop for a VP-44. I now realized what an idiot I was to push the fuel thing that far. The wife would always roll her eyes and yell when the "low fuel chime" would sound. I should be greatful, however, I've learned more about my CTD in the past 2 weeks just reading about everyone experiances and soaking up their knowledge. After the truck gets out of the shop, my christmas present to myself is going to be a set of gauges ;D ;D ;D
