I've been on the Harley forums.Prices are down on them and still falling. Used bikes are everywhere for sale but the forums are buzzing.I was surprised at how similar the discussions are.Oil wars, torque figures, dyno graphs, bad dealers, voided warranty's,bad mechanics, computer downloads and EPA issues.Even a death wobble issue! I'm shopping for a used Road King, low mileage etc.Just waiting on the right one and wife to get over hand surgery.I haven't started or driven my diesel truck but twice in 6 weeks.

I remember last year when you could get on here at 8am and it would be buzzing. Alot of familiar names disappearing, and some vendors don't frequent as much, if at all anymore. I also remember when you could log back in 30 mins later after logging off and have at least another hour of new replies to look at. Now I'm lucky if I get 20mins before I'm through.

Yeah it is a lot quieter than it was a little while back. I still frequent the forums (when I'm not working) but there are quite a few that just pop up every so often. I wonder if some people have gotten second jobs now due to the economy.

Well, I do know that during the summer it slows down a little. People out playing instead of being in the house because it's cold.
I'm sure that the cost of everything does not help either.

Just seems really slow compared to previous years. So does the traffic. Most all folks I know that own their own business say its bad slow. The fuel stuff has created a real mess.

Yeah, I agree. My wife and I noted the lack of traffic on a pretty major road on our way back from camping last weekend. I could look in the mirrors and ahead for miles and not see one single car on the road with us. We went that way for sometimes 5-6 miles. I work part time for a car dealer as well as my daytime gig, and he is not hardly moving anything at all. About the only thing keeping him going is the service department. He's looking to diversify into other things too. Scooters and lawnmowers are about the only things people seem to be buying nowadays! So he's looking into both of those!

As I mentioned earlier I've been on the Harley forum's.Lots of used bikes with repeated price cuts and still not selling well.Rumour that NEW can be had for less then MSRP plus big discounts on accessories as part of purchase.Thats UNHEARD of.I going to test the waters soon. Then off to the COAST for some serious sun burn by myself!

The roads are packed near me. I-16 and I-95 are mad man territory on the weekends and on Friday. See lots of folks on the road. Maybe they are staying closer to home? I don't know. I know my friend lives in M.B. that says it is also a mad house around there also. Folks are still going, just not as far. So instead of going to Florida, they are going to Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, St. Simons, or Jekyl Island area.

The site does slow down every summer but this summer has been a little more. When I look at the numbers, I see about 1000 posts per day right now compared to about 1300 this last winter. As gas prices go up, every business is going to be affected.

Gulf coast beaches are excellent. As a kid we used to camp at Panama city and Destin. That was before it got so crazy down there. Can't beat the clean white sand and crystal clear water. They used to have 40 foot high sand dunes you had to cross to get to the beaches in alot of places. I beat they have been long gone with all the development.
