Former Rides

Was posting in another thread, and I realized how much I missed my old ride..

Anyone have pix of their old rides, and want to share a story ?

Here's mine....

Bought this car back in 81. $500 with a blown engine. Spent thousands of $$ on it over the next several years, and I guess back in the 1980's I had it painted. Found a 340 from a dodge doner, rebuilt it, beefed the 727 and lockered the 8 3/4 with 323's. Recently painted B-5 blue with the blue and pearl white interior. Drove it for a long time, but after an accident where I rear-ended someone in a VW Rabbit, and not having enough money to repair it correctly, it went by the wayside.

Got married, let the car sit and eventually due to the rotting that occurs here, I sold it to some dude from PA for $1200 a few years ago. Kick myself, but I need the space for another vehicle...

Someday I'll get another. I keep telling myself.

(sniff.....wipe..... sniff)

LOVED THAT CAR. I'm such a dumbarse for selling it. I still have some of the parts left from it, though, so I guess it's not all gone as of yet.

At least you have pictures. Can't tell for sure but I think yours is a 68. I had a 67 convertible red with white top and factory bucket interior. It needed repairs that I couldn't afford and wound up selling to a guy who I am told did a beautiful job restoring it.
There have been others but that is the one I regret the most, never was much for pictures so I don't have pictures of any of them.

Sure looks like a 68. A guy I know here had one just like that cept his has a 383.
Good friend of mine had a 68 Cuda with the 383 super Commando.
I had a 70 Plymouth Superbird in Petty Blue...440 six barrel super track pak.
69 302 Z28 Camaro...tested at over 8000 rpm I am told.

Now I am sad. LOL

Yes it was a 68.

You can tell 68's by many little clues...

. Rear brake lights were combo white and red.
Side marker lights were round vs rectangular.

67's had backup lights as round lams to the sides of the rear license plate and the word Plymouth was spelled P L Y M O U T H, across the header panel above the headlamps, vs the Plymouth to the one side...

69's had a "humped nose" across the front header panel above the headlamps.

I'm sad too.... but it was sure fun to own for over 25 years.
