Yes, just some radio talk though. That would be one heck of a merger, not that the consumer would come out for the better or anything.

How about that though, Ford owns Durmax... has a nice ring to it.

At least the Ford guys would be correct about one thing for change.

I will always be a GM person (other than CUMMINS ) and this merger would be like God telling Satan "you know, more people are coming your way, what do you say we form a Heaven/Hell and people can do whatever they want"

You make a joke about Walmart selling cars. It could happen. Many years ago Sears sold cars, they were called the Allstate. The Allstate was essentially a Henry J made by Kaiser-Frazer and sold during the 1952 and 1953 model years. Allstates were equipped with Allstate-brand tires, tubes, spark plugs and batteries.

OK you guys, just think for a minute if this were to come about...
LOOK OUT GM employees!
Which of the now redundant GM plants would need to be closed too since there is only a need for one of each type of redundant plants now... Seen it happen too many times with other merged companies...
Managers with spreadsheet: "Gee, now we've got TWICE as many employees as we really need to move forward with the new unified vision for the FGM Co.!"
ALso, lots of salaried managerial/engineering folks get the big one in this kind of deal.
