Fly Fishing
Time for a new thread. Off in 1 1/2 hours, it's my Friday. Gonna hit the fly shop for some leaders. Gonna pick up a couple streamers too. I normally tie my own, but haven't had a chance lately. Probably do a batch Sunday. Should have a few Caddis hatching before dark. I'm gonna use my bamboo rod with #5 line and try a fast stripping technique I've been reading about. Saw a dead 17 inch brown last week, must have spit a hook. Water has warmed since then, they should be agressive tonight.

That's right, rub it in :P

Got rained out on Father's Day in SW Virginia. Went up to see my Dad for the express purpose of wetting a line together. Little boat, little pond, two flyrods and then it started raining.

Ain't nothin' more fun than a smallmouth bass in a swift current on a flyrod ;D

Enjoy yourself.

Oh, I don't know. Something about playing a Coho (Silver) Salmon in the salt chuck with a trout rod can get the rush going. Haven't been doing much fishing lately, it's so over regulated and taxed (license fees), it's almost not worth it anymore. 2 or 3 day fishing years just don't cut it anymore.

~EnviousasallheckDave

Re:Fly Fishing
Well, didn't get to the river as soon as I liked. Caddis had already started hatching, but there really weren't many fish rising. Tried a streamer first with nothing ever showing. Just before dark, some hendricksons started hatching, and a few fish started getting aggressive. I finally hooked a couple little browns. Borderline legal, but probably the prettiest little things yet this year. Gonna try again this week.
