Floor Jack and Jack Stands
Sears has Craftsman 2-1/4 ton floor jack and two 2-1/4 jackstands for 27.49 until tomorrow. Choose in store pick up. Just thought I would pass this along. I needed a new jack and just ordered mine. Got my confirmation e-mail and will be picking them up after work.

I think I got the 4 ton jack and the 6 ton stands. I have an employee who supplements his seasonal time off with a position in the tool department at Sears. His discount isn't great, but couple it with a sale and it is a pretty fair shake.

I don't think I would get under a 7,000# truck with a $27 jack and stands. You get what you pay for IMO. You need at least a 3 ton jack to pick up the front in the middle of the cross member. My 2-ton lincoln wouldn't pick it up.

I have the same set from sears, got it for like $90. I wouldnt trust anything less holding up my trucks while i'm underneath.

I wouldnt pick up my 1/2 ton gasser with a a 2.25ton jack or stands, too flimsy and tippy. My 3.5 ton craftsman jack is big, stable, and heavy duty compared to any 2.25 ton jack out there

Ya know, with 20,000 members we could throw our weight around and do some group buying like they are doing on other sites.
Example: I got my FASS II for $329 through a group buy. That's only $100 more than a Walbro set up and it comes with a 4 year warranty. (Example Only no Walbro wars please.)

I'd be very carefull with the low cap stands. These trucks are really heavy in the front. There have been a couple posts on another forum where guys have had stands collapse or break. My little 2 ton lifts the truck with effort but 2- 4 ton jack stands go under it. Pluss the jack stays too. I had one car fall on me and it wasn't fun. It had stands too. I have some heavy duty ramps that I usually use. I even put stands under the truck with these. Paranoid I guess.

Take it back!!!! Take it back!!! and get your money back. You need a much bigger jack. 2 tons is only 4000lbs, remember. My truck weighs over 5000lbs on the front. That is 2 1/2 tons, but you need at least another ton or two of extra capacity to be safe.
