Good evening all y'all. That week can just go in the trash can, glad it is done. My people are still not playing nice (the ones who work for me) - geeze Louise. I bought DW a couple of treats - a new coffee maker and a new espresso machine - she is quite excited. Tonight is going to be a nacho night for supper - I just wish we had her awesome guacamole to to with them. Sour cream and salsa will have to suffice.
DW and I got a new picture of the puppy today, he arrives next Saturday from Estevan, Saskatchewan (Scotty's neck of the woods) and DW is so excited - to be honest, I am kind of excited too.
It is time for summer to arrive in southern Alberta. It just keeps raining and raining and our temps are WAY below seasonal. The hay is growing well but everything else is behind schedule. We probably should have planted rice and cranberries this year instead of the stuff we did.
I hope everyone had a happy, safe and healthy week. Time for wine.

Anyone ever ran Kenda tires? I can get their Klever A/T which looks like a decent tread for $260 a pair off evilpay. Wondering if it's a severe case of "you get what you paid for" though.

Wow, 75 days without the internet.
And nothing has changed .
Actually, got back yesterday night, the last 2400 miles were the worst.
To relax I have been reading through some of the older stuff.
New babies, lost jobs, new jobs, sickness, getting well, getting older, getting tired
and the natural end to life of dying seem to have continued without my input.

Luckily the house was still here and the mosquitoes are out in force.
A neighbor saw us driving in and brought by a bucket of hooligan from the record run they are having.
All I want to do is relax but now I get to clean and smoke up a few hundred little fish.

I will insist that my account was hacked if anybody repeats this but I missed you guys.
Oh well, back to working on the black water valve on the trailer (I broke the handle off on something two weeks ago).
I suspect I am not going to smell any better before the night is over.

Hey.

It's Saturday, June 15th.

On this day:

1607 - Colonists in North America completed James Fort in Jamestown, VA.

1667 - Jean-Baptiste Denys administered the first fully-documented human blood transfusion. He successfully transfused the blood of a sheep to a 15-year old boy.

1752 - Benjamin Franklin experimented by flying a kite during a thunderstorm. The result was a little spark that showed the relationship between lightning and electricity.

1775 - George Washington was appointed head of the Continental Army by the Second Continental Congress.

1836 - Arkansas became the 25th U.S. state.

1844 - Charles Goodyear was granted a patent for the process that strengthens rubber.

1846 - The United States and Britain settled a boundary dispute concerning the boundary between the U.S. and Canada, by signing a treaty.

1864 - An order to establish a military burial ground was signed by Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. The location later became known as Arlington National Cemetery.

1877 - Henry O. Flipper became the first African American to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

1898 - The U.S. House of representatives approved the annexation of Hawaii.

1911 - The Computing-Tabulating-Recording Co. was incorporated in the state of New York. The company was later renamed International Business Machines (IBM) Corp.

1916 - U.S. President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill incorporating the Boy Scouts of America.

1940 - The French fortress of Verdun was captured by Germans.

1944 - American forces began their successful invasion of Saipan during World War II.

1986 - Pravda, the Communist Party newspaper, reported that the chief engineer of the Chernobyl nuclear plant was dismissed for mishandling the incident at the plant.

1992 - It was ruled by the U.S. Supreme Court that the government could kidnap criminal suspects from foreign countries for prosecution.

1992 - U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle instructed a student to spell "potato" with an "e" on the end during a spelling bee. He had relied on a faulty flash card that had been written by the student's teacher.

Thought for the day:
It takes great character and wisdom to stay above the fray and do the work that fixes the problem.

C0ffee & ph00 are made.

Bark, good to see you, didn't realize you were gone!

Greetings. Fresh cut fruit, pastries, oatmeal, bacon, eggs, coffee, phoo, tea and tequila on the counter.

We had some heavy rains here yesterday. The neighbor's rain gauge was full before the last storm rolled through. It goes to 3". More rain forecast for the next few days then we get heat in the high 80's.

On the road again. M&M ( wife and daughter are following me up)

Good morning all y'all.

Bark - welcome home!! Quick question, if you are going to smoke a bunch of little fish, what do you roll them in - regular rolling papers? Also, fish contain a lot of water, how do you get them lit - just a regular Zippo lighter?

Do you any of you remember me whining about a lack of rain back in mid-May? If I do that again, please send someone to slap me. I don't think we have gone 36 hours without rain since the May 22 long weekend. There is rain in the forecast pretty much every day for the next week. The garden is starting to fall behind and the weeds are starting to get ahead of me. I control the weeds with the rototiller, but I neglected to buy the 'pontoon' option when I got the rototiller a few years back. If I were to try to get in there with the tiller today, I would just sink up to the axles. The field (full section) just south of my place is full of water, I bet a quarter of the seed that was planted in there got drowned out and I suspect there will be no way to get it reseeded. Even if it stopped raining today, it will take a few weeks for that water to evaporate. I had to grab the binoculars yesterday evening because I was pretty sure I saw a U-Boat periscope in one of the flooded out areas.

Apparently I am taking DW to the city later this morning to get stuff for the new dog that arrives next week. Dog bed, chew toys and other stuff to spoil the little gaffer are on the list. We are going to work hard at training so we have an obedient dog who isn't a monster but at the same time, the little guy is going to get kind of spoiled. Apparently he is a little overweight right now but once he gets here he has about 20 acres to run and chase *****. That ought to get the baby fat off him pretty quickly.

Ok, time to grab life by the horns, hopefully I can stay on for an 8 second ride. Keep your heads up and your stick on the ice.

Don't know anything about them. I think I'm running the Nitto Crosstek. So far they're wearing very good and that is what I was looking for. I got them from NTB. On their web site they are listed around $185 each. NTB offers a pretty good road hazard warranty too.

I think he has to run over them with a SAAB or something and them throw them on the hood for like a month. As too the pontoon option I have just what you need. It's a 1929 concept vehicle.

Off to bust some knuckles.
Bark said he did but he hasn't had the internet to tell anybody.

To all those who offered prayers thanks. The case was moved back 6 months. That is not what we wanted but I'm believing God's hand is in this decision and favor will fall on us because of it. Pray that I'm correct.

Good question. They also call hooligan candlefish because they are 15% fatty oils (the good stuff). It means you can wind up with one heck of a fire in the smoker after they dry.

Sigh,,,,, That kind of sums up this last trip we were on. A whole lot of nothing.

Even though it sucks, our legal system is still one of the best in the world. Umm, try not to think about trials like OJ and others when I say how good it is....

T Raddy, that is good actually. means more closer examination by Court to change current situation. Prayers from here, time does not matter-God knows best. I always gave extended time when I knew right from the first two days that custody needed to change for the benefit of the child/ren. Usually the one that lost custody can't keep up the charades for the six month examination period......just sayin' Best of Things to you and yours!

Justin! way to go stay, cool!
Farmhand, you putting those on the Amigo? heard of sidewall issues...

went to doc, pulled chest/rib muscles somehow. did benefit yard sale with
one arm and lots of good people that would not let me carry anything.
found out the t shirt my hubby helped me into had marker on the back
" Heidi hospitalized again- If you can read this- make her sit down"

Did some digging and they are FOC Nan Kangs. Back to the options list. Everything else is $150/each and up, so I might go the $170/each route for the BFG A/T-KO's.
The guy at the co-op apparently didn't order the Cooper/Sigmas. Guess he's got a real bad short-timer attitude. Too bad for them.

Heard you guys up near the Yukon have something new to worry about. Saw this in reply to a question about the range of armadilloes on another board.
They have been rumored to run in packs and attack brown bear, badgers, and wolves up in northern Canada. I've told story that they've even been known to wrap themselves around moose ankles and gnaw at them until they bring them down. Alone on Texas highways, harmless. In packs just south of the Yukon, tear igloos apart and eat eskimos, seals, and penguins if they can't find herds of caribou to go after.

Careful of them guys. Don't corner them if are two or more
Fist Saturday off since- shoot- probably early March. Not going to go to the Kid Rock concert Friday. Talked to my pool team captain and he said the girl I was going to ask along has had a boyfriend all along. Probably spend the money on a new camera instead.

NE_frmhnd, tell you what, you just come on up here and start spraying our Canadian thistle next Saturday. That will take you mind off that girl. I will put the sprayer behind my Suzuki quad and you can spray for hours.

See, I am always happy to help out a guy who is in a bad place.

Not in a bad place. Won at pool, got the day off, got enough cash to get some tires and a camera (if I could make up my mind) and buy a pile of groceries.
What size Suzuki? Can't say I've ever run one. I'm missing my foreman 400, the ranchers suck!

It is a Suzuki Kingquad Eiger 400. I know there are plenty bigger quads than that around but it does everything we need it to. I put a nice second seat on it over the rear cargo rack that has bins on the side. I have done everything from snowplow to pull a few hundred pounds of harrows through the garden. We wanted a quad for a while just for fun but it has also been a good investment as I can do thing like spray the fields and pull our dump trailer behind the quad instead of the lawn tractor. The JD lawn tractor was starting to take a beating from the mower deck hitting rocks in the hay fields and such.

The nieces like it when there are out here visiting with us, they are still just small enough that I can put one on the second seat behind me and then one in front of me between me and the gas tank. Before the safety people get on my back too much, I keep the speed very low when the kids are on the quad with me and I keep to the level parts of the fields where I know there are no surprise rocks or ditches waiting to cause problems.

Bark, good to have you back on. Miss your weird humor. ...............Don't want to hear about them state birds thingies - - mosquitoes. You are to have them gone by next spring - - promise!!!!!
Hooligans???? Never heard of them. We used to collect grunion in California when they would run. Pick them up on the sand when they come up to lay eggs. The trick is to wait them out until they lay but before the next big wave comes in and takes them back out. Have fun with them.

Hey, the lanai is finished inside - - just have the entries to pour and lay pavers - - then install equipment and bring out the furniture, fire up the grille and invite friends over to celebrate. Sure looks nice. Yes, Scott - - pics - - I know - - when the furniture is all set in place, then pics. That is all after coming home from Seattle and playing with the new twins. Can't wait - - head out Monday morning.

OK, out of here for tonight.
