What's with neither one of you youngsters being able to successfully post a link? You're SUPPOSED to be good at this stuff!

Where would you like me to go?

Today is Thursday, June 13th.

1789 - Ice cream was served to General George Washington by Mrs. Alexander Hamilton.

1825 - Walter Hunt patented the safety pin. Hunt then then sold the rights for $400.

1866 - The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was passed by the U.S. Congress. It was ratified on July 9, 1868. The amendment was designed to grant citizenship to and protect the civil liberties of recently freed slaves. It did this by prohibiting states from denying or abridging the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States, depriving any person of his life, liberty, or property without due process of law, or denying to any person within their jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

1888 - The U.S. Congress created the Department of Labor.

1898 - The Canadian Yukon Territory was organized.

1912 - Captain Albert Berry made the first successful parachute jump from an airplane in Jefferson, Mississippi.

1920 - The U.S. Post Office Department ruled that children may not be sent by parcel post.

1927 - For the first time, an American Flag was displayed from the right hand of the Statue of Liberty.

1940 - Paris was evacuated before the German advance on the city.

1943 - German spies landed on Long Island, New York. They were soon captured.

1944 - Germany launched 10 of its new V1 rockets against Britain from a position near the Channel coast. Of the 10 rockets only 5 landed in Britain and only one managed to kill (6 people in London).

1949 - Bao Dai entered Saigon to rule Vietnam. He had been installed by the French.

1966 - The landmark "Miranda vs. Arizona" decision was issued by the U.S. Supreme Court. The decision ruled that criminal suspects had to be informed of their constitutional rights before being questioned by police.

1967 - Solicitor General Thurgood Marshall was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson to become the first black justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

1971 - The New York Times began publishing the "Pentagon Papers". The articles were a secret study of America's involvement in Vietnam.

1979 - Sioux Indians were awarded $105 million in compensation for the U.S. seizure in 1877 of their Black Hills in South Dakota.

1983 - The unmanned U.S. space probe Pioneer 10 became the first spacecraft to leave the solar system. It was launched in March 1972. The first up-close images of the planet Jupiter were provided by Pioneer 10.

1994 - A jury in Anchorage, Alaska, found Exxon Corp. and Captain Joseph Hazelwood to be reckless in the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

2000 - In Pyongyang, North Korea's leader Kim Jong Il welcomed South Korea's President Kim Dae for a three-day summit. It was the first such meeting between the leaders of North and South Korea.

Todays Thought... does this make any sense to anyone?

The lines over the circles are color coded. Notice the single red line and 3
blue lines representing "13" group together while the single green and 2
black lines take their own group.
[Simply] draw your first group of lines in one direction then your second
group of lines going over the first, count the groups of intersections and
there's your answer.

C0ffee and ph00 are on.

See ya!

Wow, been a little slow in here today.

Okay, well, maybe I can pick up the pace a bit...
Had a doctor's appointment this morning, annual physical. They told me to bring a stool sample. For some reason they weren't amused;

At a friends request, I went to a house where she was preparing items for an estate sale. Helped her price a few tools that she had no idea of what they were worth. Wish I either had money or was dishonest. This guy bought stuff and never used it, kind of a hoarder I guess. Brand new Dewalt tools still in their plastic. I put a bid in on a little bench lathe.

Rest of the day I've done nothing but hang out with Jake. But I HAVE discovered one thing:

Scott, I'd have been laughing all the way to bank after seeing what you took in for your stool sample!! Ya know....if you DID pay them then they DID go to the bank......at least I would have. The noses pic was a good one too.

Did you watch the video slev posted yesterday? Was that a re-do from the song we know over here as "I got a brand new pair of roller skates......" or did WE copy that from the "combine" folks? That song had me cracking up.

Friggin HOT here today......92 right now with a heat index of 104.....only gonna get more worser as we get into Summer.

I'd use the dang youtube button like every other forum I visit has but I can't seem to find the stupid thing.

draw your first group of lines in one direction then your second
group of lines going over the first, count the groups of intersections and
there's your answer.
Did that with 15x15 (225). Got 1, 10 and 25. Add the one from the 10 to the first one, and there's 225.

I miss the foreman, hope it gets fixed soon. Dang rancher steers like an old power-steering-less cab-over. Had to cut it short today because my shoulders are so tore up from fighting it all the time, headache was even making my teeth hurt. And it doesn't climb worth a crap either with a slightly shorter wheelbase and a 100 pounds of water in a tank strapped to its ****. Places I've been with the foreman I can't get to with the rancher because the front end starts coming over on me, and I gotta kick it to neutral and let it roll back down the hill.

Evening guys and gals. Keep a warm thought for us tomorrow if you would. We have to attend a custody hearing for my only grandson and to be honest, we could use all the prayers we could get. Thanks in advance!

Rick, this stuff is never fun and especially involving the grandkids. Our thoughts and prayers are with you that what is best for the child will be the end result.

OK, back at it. Time out at noon for a big SS class luncheon at an Amish restaurant, then back to the "list" and knock off a few more items. Later gator.

Dang....it's HOT outside today.....the humidity is horrible!!! Knocked out the yard and ran a few errands, had lunch and beer with good buddy who just lost his grandmother, and took the wife to Lowes for her lunch break. That just sounds bad of me, but that's where SHE wanted to go.

Relaxing now and headed to get the little one from daycare in a bit. Ya'll be good.

Spraying went well today. Got 3 pastures and corners on 2 pivots knocked out. Then went to some ground we picked up over the winter and wow, the best way to describe this family's approach to muskthistle control must be "if'n the neighbors cain't see it, it mustn't be there".

Thinking of getting a vivitar 8400 camera. Cheap, waterproof, and supposedly fairly dist-proof. We'll see.

Just came in from the lanai - - getting dark and had to quit. Tile is all bedded in - - grout it in the morning, install sink and grille and I AM DONE. Just in time to head out of here for a month and not get to enjoy it. Bummer. Tired. Very humid here also, Mr. Jenson, although probably not as hot as you are.

I am shot - - going to go relax and recoup. More tomorrow and wrap that long project up - finally. Ya'll sleep tight.

OH - - look at this - - this is quite amazing - - and scary.
