Finally got knee fixed
Well after waiting 8 mouths for surgery I finally got my knee fixed. Know I can look forward to sitting around for 3 mouth till my knee heals up. Tore the ACL in my knee. hopefully I will be able to get in my truck soon so I can at least get out of the house. Found one thing out when you tear the ACL in Half man does that hurt.

I feel for you man. I injured my left knee about 15 years ago and it more or less finished my athletics at least at the higher levels. It took 5 years just to heal up enough so I could run hard at all. It's still very shakey and a wrong move will finish me.
I hurt it again lifting weights then bowling of all things. I nearly switched hands bowling but I have stuck it out. The game has changed so I can still play by muscling the ball instead of finessing it.
I guess it was just too many sports. I'm just worn out but hate to admit it.

I just saved myself thousands of dollars in foot surgery by playing tag with my sons. I have Plantar Faciitis pretty bad in my left foot, and tore the Planter Facia tendon during the game. I could barely walk, and could feel the throbbing for a few days. I iced it right away, and started taking Naproxen (Aleve) as recommended on the bottle. Foot hurt so bad the next morning, I went to the Podiatrist. (I HATE doctor visits, so this is an important milestone!!) He told me I have a pretty good heel spur starting on my Achilles tendon, started me on some stretches for it (the tight tendon in back puts too much stress on the Plantar Facia tendon, causing my faciitis.) He then sid that if my Faciitis was sever enough to tear the tendon, I may have been a good candidate for surgery. The funny part is that the surgery consists of local anesthesia, and them cutting into the bottom of the foot just so they can CUT THE PLANTAR FACIA TENDON to relive the strain!!! I just did it without an incision or benefit of anesthesia...
He also saved me approx. #275 by recommending SPENCO brand Orthotic Insoles rather than plaster casts and custom Orthotic insoles. He said the Spenco's are pretty close to the same construction and wear as long as the custom jobs, but for approx. $28 a pair vs. $300 from him. I like this guy!! The insoles are great!
Next, he saved me from getting a prescription for Naproxen, telling me what dosage is safe for the generic Aleve I am already taking. So far, after 5 days, my left foot feels better than before I tore the tendon!!
Lastly, I am very happy that you got your knee repaired. I have several friends who have injured or seperated their ACL, and all had major discomfort until healed up. Some never reached 100%, but several are back to perfect form. One girl I dated briefly was quite an accomplished high jumper in high school had to really train and condition for a long time to get back to form after being down so long with the injury. She became a great jumper again by her 3rd season in college.
