exactly how does the $100 deductible on warranty work?

1st time - at this dealership - had a broke foglight, called on cell, it was $127 or so. i asked for a deal, maybe an even $100 or so. It was like friday afternoon, gonna be crap weather all weekend, wanted to have foglites.
--parts guy was a complete EDIT, just a flamin pain. i told him i had some connections and could get it at cost next week and told me 'to go ahead, but i won't give you a discount"
--so, being stubborn, i just went over, bought it and put it on.

2nd time - go in to have front pinion seal replaced for leak, had to show mechanic and service writer where it was, and that they could see it from the front driver side fender well. I told him it was a 2500, and I thought the 3/4 tons all had 100k warranty. SW wrote it up, i left.

3rd time - parts in, i show up ~7 o'clock, my SW isn't even there, he's late, so while the other SW is trying to figure it out, dude drags in. i toss him the keys and catch my ride to work. it's there ~8 hours. calls me, they ordered the wrong part, for a 1500. come get it.

4th time - drop truck off, my old SW has been "voted off the island"
new SW guy takes my info. trucks done after lunch, go pick up.

day after - SW calls me, said my truck was under warranty, but has a "$100 deductible" and i need to pay the $100, but it was only $75, so i just need to pay the $75.

what has been you guys experience with this deductible?

While the part might only be $75, the labor surely put it over that. Call it $125 after labor. So you only have to pay $100 of the $125 which means your warranty saved you a whopping $25.

BigBlue's got it right. Best thing to do is watch for the stuff on your truck and take it in and give them a list as long as your arm....like I'm gonna do We get them at work with $200 deducts and you find out what is wrong with it, go get your Warranty labor op #'s and it's cheaper than the deductable. So customer has to pay for it, cause it's under 200 clams and you, the technician get stuck doing customer pay work for warranty times, cause if you charge them customer pay times it is over the $200 deductable and back into warranty.....The system is about as much BS as the system of how they pay us.... Sorry, I get that way when I think about the automotive industries pay structure for the people who have to fix what the manufacturer screws up....

Deductable? I'm still ignorant as to what this "warranty"-thing that you speak of is at all...
