well, yea, at 190* thermostat seems a bit high compared to the 170* in my truck. doesn't run any hotter than 190* ish. the car has 115K on it, but isn't loosing any coolant and there is no vapor clouds out of the exhaust (I have a buddy that had a 96 that the head gasket let go on).

Sorry about your troubles Blake. Thankfully, you have a more level head than I.

Josh, sorry about your dad too. He doesn't deserve that kind of thing and neither do you.

Wow take a day or two off of here and man!

Blake that's tough. I ain't never met a dog that needed that kind of resolve, but I've met some people.... I feel real bad for you and your family. Keep on the level.

Congrats Claude. A new angel.

Josh, I've been there. 15 years for me in the auto dealership world. Made it into management for a year then BAM downsized. What bit the most was a new gen mgr comes in and brings "his" staff in and cleans house of the ones who have maintained the business for the owner for all those years. I wish your dad the best.

Going down to Beaufort town, gonna break mads truck and run.....Nah not really. Looking forward to it though.

Evening all. Lost our office mgr at work so no goof off time for me right now.

Look into speed sensor as well. It fails, ECM sees 0 mph and commands idle. Especially in gearToo much load for idle and stalls out. Dakotas were bad for this. Crank sensor is also worth looking at.

Wow, what a lot of mess happening today. I'll keep mine quiet, too much going on in here already. I will take a moment now and say a prayer for us all, I'd encourage you to join me. Josh, Blake you and your families are at the top. FO, check the diagnostic plug under the dash. We had a 96, same problem and sometimes wouldn't start after sitting for just a few minutes. Found a short in that plug.

this is one of the reasons I HATE USED VEHICLES!.
Fuel filter is $10, Crank position sensor is $25, in tank fuel pump is $130. I learned long ago to start with the cheap stuff. I dont know what kinda maintenance has been done, I know the last 3000 miles history of the car. Could be fuel filter, pump, gunk in the tank, could be a sensor.
Im gonna check the plugs I put in last weekend to see if they look like they are running lean or rich. Maybe change the fuel filter and run another can of sea foam thru the car.

Share brother share. No burden is meant for one. I'm with you.

The short in the plug was between the seat and floor?

No!

OK, from the top;
  • Got an email & Px from the PD this morning concerning the passing of someone I used to work with. Cause of death undetermined at this time. Funeral arrangements TBA.
  • Follow up call from daughter, hot water still out, day care still using up all diaper and wipes she sends, now she's without.
  • Concerning friend in Ohio, her daughter was assaulted about a year ago. She has just made a positive ID on the suspect. He lives near her grandmother. All are scared for the safety of the daughter. Suspect is MIA at this time.
  • This same daughter is currently in the hospital with breathing issues related to asthma.
  • Upon entering the hospital, standard tests include a wabbit test, it died, parents are in shock.
  • This list does not contain any of the issues surrounding our church opening a satellite up the road a few miles. Too many ideas, not enough money etc, etc, etc.

Good then, you can take the loft. I HATE square bales!! Round bales are nothing but riding on a tractor.
BBQed tree rats are good!

Yeah small squares are alot more work but he's able to sell them off alot faster than the rounds. If we keep doing the field in squares we'll have about 800-1000 bales.

But... we got a problem that just blew up yesterday. This one fella that just moved in down the road, well, Weve got a blood feud about to erupt... the you know what shot my dads dog yesterday! My mom, myself and the rest of the family are pretty devastated over it.

My dad wants to go talk to him when he comes in this weekend. Guy said he really didnt know whos dog it was, and that he didnt care either way. (Dog was still young and had wondered, first time hes ever done that). Thing is is wasnt even on his property, it was on a friend of ours property, he just took it upon himself to kill my (familys) dog.

Dad wants to keep the peace. I dont. You dont just kill another mans dog for crying out loud. Poor Champ never hurt a soul, he was a easy going as a dog gets... really goofy actually, a doggy doofus.

Fella that shot him has got a nice 08 3500 6.7, Its gonna smart when I pass a .50 through that thing. Im just trying to decide if Im gonna do it before or after I stomp all over him.
Blake don't do anything too rash! I would be mad as heck too if someone shot Boomer but I wouldn't wanna do something that got me in even worse trouble. I'd still confront him and talk to him about it, especially since the dog wasn't on his property. He didn't have the right to shoot in my opinion.

Well, my dad got let go today. Been in the automotive business for 45 some odd years. Been with our company for 6 as a manager. They told him they had to trim some fat basically. I feel bad for the guy. I know it's the same old story but the hard workers get screwed. He's got a few interviews lined up, he'll be just fine. So my parents are gonna take off for a week and go up north; get out of the heat and clear their heads.

Additionally, one of my managers, another great guy...got let go last night. Our owner has his sights out for some killin.

This is why I go to school, the automotive business sucks.

J
Hey Josh. Sorry about your dads job, seems to be the popular thing going around anymore. I think some employers are doing the samething just becasue they can. They tried to cut a ton of people where I was at but the union asked to see their books, the company dropped the mass layoff really fast then and only did a few of us instead.

Josh, man, that's tough news.

Blake, we're here for you, buddy. I can't imagine how mad I'd be. We had a dog stolen out of our yard once, I was livid.

Evenin, DTR. Not much to report. Angie is doing better. We cleaned the pool a little, getting ready for Chris to come down this weekend, he's helping me with ball joints.

Ok, off to bed. I hear a baby coughing, so it's probably going to be a long night.

Later.
Evening Mark, good to hear Angie is doing better!

Evening DTR. Raked hay let it dry out and then started baling around 1600, got 225 bales out of about 5 acres before the dew set in around 1800. Doing some more tomorrow and friday now. Looks like we might square bale all of the 30 acres. My buddy already had some sold before we started today, a local farmer saw the field, checked it and told my friend how many bales he wanted.

The UPS truck drop off a new item today. I got ride of two 5 inch stacks a while back. Guy wanted to trade me, his brand new grand rock 6 inch turn out for my two used 5 inch straight cuts. Not bad trade since I had nothing into the 5 inchers execpt a wash and polish. I might put it in the truck or sell it, dunno yet.

Havin a beer now.

Thats what had me so upset, yeah it was wrong that Champ was not on our property, but he didnt have to kill him, thing is hes so gun shy you just yell bang and he hides in his house. All he had to do was call and we would have went get him.

Well.....

I think it will be, I woke up and thats a good start.

Ive calmed down a bunch and pretty much gotten back to my normal disposition.

Weather is nice and cool, had bacon and eggs for breakfast. Three day weekend coming up, with a wedding to attend Friday night, a special meeting at the Lodge Saturday morning to put the Fellow Craft degree on my little brother, Sunday is AirDog install day on Dads truck and dove hunting, Monday is Labor Day BBQ day....

Things are looking up Id say.

Hope everyone else is having a better turn of luck too.

A Good Morning to All!
