Not to worry. As loud as the bells are ringing in her head you could tear the walls down around her and she wouldn't know until she felt the draft.

The ball - we survived

First, it was a smartphone equipment error; h-o-t-e-l. A pinky swear says that I had not had anything to drink at the point in time I typed that.

The event we went to is called The Margarita Ball and is put on by the Dallas Margarita Society. It's an annual charity event that gathers gifts that go out to local less fortunate kids. It's my understanding that the toys get distributed to a number of PDs and FDs and serves as their supply for the events they do in their respective areas. Each attendee is required to bring one gift. That's more or less the entry fee for the invitation. DH and I each picked out some Lego sets. They have some awesome stuff! The guy checking us in at the reception desk said last years attendance was around 15k people and they expected more this year.

I was stressing over this event. I'm so glad that I was wrong on my idea of how it would go. DH and I got all dressed up. That was a circus in itself, but we got there. Strapping in, sticking on, and tieing up, we looked pretty sweet. We were on youtube getting instructions on how to do DHs bowtie. After a few tantrums we had success - we're still married

We headed over to the company suite where beverages and snacks warmed us up for game time. I did not intend to wake up to a hangover so I planned to take it easy. I grabbed a cold beer (instead of the liquor or champagne) and took my time. Then someone walked in with a new bottle of Patron and wanted to do a toast.

It went downhill from there.

The amount of people that fit on three floors of the ball room was incredible. They had several dance floors, live music stages, a casino (charity only, no cash out), bars, game raffles. The atmosphere and setting reminded me of a cruise ship. I played a little blackjack. I normally don't hit tables (I like slots).

Around midnight I got hit by the train. My feet were killing me from my heels too. We retired back to the room. Blah blah blah, ordered cheeseburgers then passed out around 2am Woke up at 6am and dying of thirst. I moved slowly so as not to awake the hangover beast. Water, coffee and Excedrin gave me a boost. We checked out and headed home.

Today is lazy nap-on-the-couch day. Only a couple days to get ready for our Turkey week plans. Viva November!
Told y'all. Ding Dong!

Got sad news at church today, out Pastor is getting a promotion so that means he has to leave us. He's only been here about 3.5 years, only the second one we're ever had. As sad as I am for us I'm just as glad for him. He'll be a DS over 130 churches now. The last 2 DS's had to leave prematurely because of "personal issues". That district is getting a great guy and a better leader.

Rick, there's that job opening you've been seeking......snicker snicker

Larry, THANK YOU! I will text the son directly and have him level line the barrel and check the mount before installing another scope. that thing kicks like a mule but has a nice 'thumb' grip stock for him to control recoil. he needs more shooting time for better confidence. good kid, needs direction.
kinda like someone else we all know and love, har har (bet SM Jack thought that too)

venison chili with cheese, apples n cinnamon, fresh rolls for suppa! gonna do a lil exercise before i plunk down in the recliner with some ice cream for Amazing Race... no one wants to sign up for that show with me...

Sean, I am driving RIGHT OVER to settle those girls once and for all! (cop, state prison guard, state mediator, arbitrator and judge) yeah, this will get settled effectively.

hope Madhat still does that January mud run thingy....

Wow - - I am exhausted. Tony Stewart just won the championship - - a knuckle buster end to the race - - good going, Tony.

OK, gotta go relax now - - I am more tired than he is.

Evening

Finally sat down since 1:00 this afternoon.

Worked on the blue beast, getting all the under body stuff done before winter. shifter cable, throttle, kick down, trans lines, mounting the shifter.

Welded the brackets together for the wind generators, all primed. Mixing up some Rustoleum to match the siding of the house. I should have 2 up by next Sunday.

Spent the last two weeks fighting with customers to get paid and the IRS. I won the IRS deal, they're not used to be told off and being told they are breaking the laws. Plus my right eye has given up making reading very difficult. Sorry Lary, hard to read the long stories. But I get the drift. Not to mention my name is around here.

Need to get Hubba and Bubba on the collections. I smell road trip

I get to go back to work tomorrow. Been out for a bit under a month after knee surgery. Light duty for a week or two and then back in the car stopping stupid people from running in the middle of the highway trying to pick up things in traffic.

Take it easy on that knee, buddy... I've been there. Lots of stretching and strength exercise.

Absolutely. It feels good just to be able to bend the thing again. I can't wait to get running and full workouts but the physical therapy has helped a lot.
