The DTR free insult and coffee room. Dec 05 - 11

Good morning everybody, rise and shine.
It's another ........... day here in Paradise, what is it like where you live?

Thought that by now somebody would be up and made the coffee, but noooooooooooo, y'all are either too lazy to clean the sludge pot or are still snuggled down like NY bed bugs.

Made the coffee with fresh Mexican coffee. There are tacos of various kinds waiting to be nuked and there is goat cheese goodies. Have at 'em, but don't be a pig and leave some for others. That is, if there are any left, 'cuz the dragon is sniffing in that direction.

Step in here and risk being insulted and belittled - for free, or no reason.

Chilly here.
Temps in the upper 30s with wind chills in the 20s.

Breakfast of fresh-made waffles and bacon drowned with cups of hot coffee.......done and consumed.....ya snooze,... ya lose.

Concrete contractor building my garage in Burkeville said he had to call off the concrete truck deliveries yesterday due to snow squalls moving through the area all afternoon.

Have a great week.

Sorry Stan, was busy as soon as I sat down, but thanks for starting a pot.

Special Sunday quote of the day.

He who farts in church, sits in his own pew...

Waffles and bacon sound good this morning ....
We did IHOP yesterday ... tried the banana bread french toast and it was the BOMB !!

Gonna be another decent but breezy day. Only goals for today are to watch Bionic Builders and then go wash the car ... she's feeling really neglected.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Mornin. Busy last week, busy today. Got the turbo pulled and sent off yesterday, got to help a friend that is moving out clean his house, and pack for my week long class in Commifornia. Gonna miss the wife and kids while I'm gone, but it'll help out the career in the long run.

Need some breakfast and coffee, then need to get to it.

Ya'll be cool.

Just don't get them at the same time. They're more apt to bond to each other rather than you and your wife. Makes training more difficult. You probably already know this tho.

I'm awake, nothing hurts and I still look good... I'd say it's a great day!

Well isn't THAT original... and probably against the rules. I'll leave it for a more experienced admin to slap your hand tho, just because I respect you so much.

Morning all. I slept 'til almost 9AM! That's unheard of for me!

Today is Sunday, December 5th. 19 days and 14 hours until Christmas!

On this day in 1766 - James Christie, founder of the famous auctioneers, held his first sale in London.

1782 - The first native U.S. president, Martin Van Buren, was born in Kinderhook, NY.

1848 - U.S. President Polk triggered the Gold Rush of '49 by confirming the fact that gold had been discovered in California.

1876 - The Stillson wrench was patented by D.C. Stillson. The device was the first practical pipe wrench.

1904 - The Russian fleet was destroyed by the Japanese at Port Arthur, during the Russo-Japanese War.

1932 - German physicist Albert Einstein was granted a visa making it possible for him to travel to the U.S.

1933 - Prohibition came to an end when Utah became the 36th state to ratify the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

1944 - During World War II, Allied troops took Ravenna, Italy.

1945 - The so-called "Lost Squadron" disappeared. The five U.S. Navy Avenger bombers carrying 14 Navy flyers began a training mission at the Ft. Lauderdale Naval Air Station. They were never heard from again.

1951 - The first push button-controlled garage opened in Washington, DC.

1955 - The American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations merged to form the AFL-CIO.

1979 - Sonia Johnson was formally excommunicated by the Mormon Church due to her outspoken support for the proposed Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution.

1986 - The Soviet Union said it would continue to abide by the SALT II treaty limits on nuclear weapons. This was despite the decision by the U.S. to exceed them.

1998 - James P. Hoffa became the head of the Teamsters union, 23 years after his father was the head. His father disappeared and was presumed dead.

2008 - The iTunes Music Store reached 300 million applications downloaded.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The things that come to those who wait may be the things left by those who got there first.

That is really nice. Often see that kind of thing down here and enjoy God's handiwork each and every time.

It reminded me of one translation of Genesis 2:1;

Thus the heavens and earth were completed in their vast array. .........

Afternoon DTR. Should be in the low 70's here today and no wind. Gotta love the desert in the winter time

Had a very nice Machaca plate for breakfast today since the break room was still closed

Finished the lights on the house yesterday. Finished almost all the shopping for Christmas today.

So far a very good weekend!

Remind me towards the end of the week. I'm in Mass until Tuesday, be back in Michigan Wednesday, and that's where all those numbers are at.

Afternoon all. Parade was a lot of fun, Jake had a great time. Had about 1000 people swarm him all afternoon and he loved every minute of it.

Afternoon folks. Cold here this day and windy too. Wife and I have a Christmas get together to attend and then headed to a going away party.

Afternooner.

Yeah, Stan. I think of our Creator all the time when I see stuff like that.

Good to see you, Worm.

It was not that early, Rick Being on the edge of the time zone, sunrise is not as early here. It was 7ish.

Bout to go pack for my trip and get on the road in a little bit. I called the rental place earlier this week and upgraded from the economy compact to the intermediate... I got there and they tried to give me a VW bug... I upgraded again.

See you folks in a little while.
