sniff (chaikwa, I don't have anyone on the 'people I like list'...)
don't worry 'bout the gov , Claude..they will be asking you for money soon. hehehehe email you legislators, they actually have been told to pay attention to suggested citizen stuff. seems Town hall meetings aren't safe anymore....for them. Good!
sunshine and 49 here, summer! went to drop off donations to a charity place, only to see the employees picking through and keeping 90% of the stuff. I asked them to return it to me and went to a mom and pop (permanent yard sale) type shop. they did exactly what I would have done, gave out small stuffed animals free to little kids in with adults; put decent prices on better stuff for Christmas gifts; gave out free to any senior the music, VHS, cassette tapes of Bob Hope and the 40s era of stuff. I feel pretty good, and picked up a 1960s classic, fully outfitted matchbox fire engine (1920s american LaFrance, my aunt had a real one) life is good today!
congrats ofc marc- ChrisR (little princess's guardian)- and eric for his baby(deer)
here's one from our backyard, neighbor took it with bow. neighbr is 6'2" for reference.

I Know Ye`ll Think I Just Fell Off The Turnip Wagon -However Consider This !
Electricity Is Produced Ya Water Power -coal - Gas & Oil Fired Boilers - Wind - Solar - Nuclear Power>
I Understand Also That Its More Than A Convenience For Some To Have Their Yards & Streets Light ( There Is A Safety Factor)
If We As A Nation Would Apply The Same Technology We Use To Light Up Our Drive (motion Sensors ) The Savings Would Come With In A Month Or Two !
We Would Have The Same Safety Factor, Possibly Evenmore Safety
Because When A Light Comes On You Pay Attention (something You Would Have Previously Ignored)
For Every Hour That We Didn`t Run City Lights -yard Lights - The Saving`s Would Be Tremendous .
the Only People That Probably Wouldn`t Like The Idea Would Be The Electric Co!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now You Decide Have I Really Bumped My Head !

No, not at all. I think maybe you escaped from the loony bin, but not the turnip truck by any means!
Nope, just a convenience for me. When I wander out into the yard at night, I don't want to trip over my own big feet! Motion lights aren't all they're cracked up to be. If the power even so much as flickers, they all come on and stay on until daylight or until you shut them off for 5 minutes. The bulbs have a shorter life when they're in a motion light. If it rains hard or a leaf blows by, they come on. But on a warm night, when there's very little temperature difference between the air and someone's body temperature, they DON'T come on.
As far as savings go... we've tried everything. The only thing that's come close to saving any money are the compact florescent bulbs we put in the horse barn. But the idiots that read the meters here don't always READ them. If they're too lazy on any particular day, they won't get out of the truck to do the reading and instead do an 'estimated' reading. They might do this 4 or 5 times in a row, so when they finally DO an actual reading, it's so high we endup with a $1500 bill. After figuring out what they're doing, talking with their supervisors and calling the public utilities commission, I've found out that nothing will be done. So, I've also figured out how to play their game, but that's another subject!
We've thought about installing alternative energy sources; wind and solar to be specific. But the guy down the street that owns the giant green houses did that to the tune of 2.3 million. While he has realized a true savings in electricity costs figured over a 20 year payoff period, the township has now decided that they can tax the wind towers and solar panels as real property, amounting to an ADDITIONAL $14,400 in taxes PER YEAR! The governor has been pushing 'green' power alternatives, yet the township undermines it all, so for now, those alternatives are out of the picture for us. The green house owner is actually considering removing all the green power systems completely. So much for the new Michigan jobs thru the green industry, huh?
chaikwa.
