The guys I know don't haul down south anymore. They use to a number of years ago and would run the backroads for the most part. They only run from Gary IN to Detroit MI now. Another friends dad hauls excavating equipment locally and I know he has a special permit to weight 200k lbs.

evening everyone, snowed alot this morning. It was a white out for a while this morning. Been snowing off and on all day, now the wind picked up and the snow is drifting. Worked with my friend and his dad on the semi trailer today. Gonna go back out tomorrow and do some more work on the semi trailer.

OJ was traveling on I59 on the SW side of Birmingham when another motorist crossed the interstate median and struck him head on, he died at the scene. All I'll say is the accident would be difficult, even for seasoned folks. Additionally, FIL called around 2100 that night because his cat just keeled over. He found him in the living room. Since my MIL passed a few years ago his cat "Mo" has been a great comfort to him. I've got to get back on the phone today and notify folks about the funeral arrangement for OJ. I help out with things like this so us "Old Folks" stay in the loop.
Sorry bout all that Rick..... Will send a few prayers your way.

Morning all

0 degrees here this morning. Probably warmer than Rick tho!

Today is Saturday, January 9th.

On this day in 1848 - The first commercial bank was established in San Francisco, CA.

1861 - The state of Mississippi seceded from the United States.

1894 - The New England Telephone and Telegraph Company put the first battery-operated switchboard into operation in Lexington, MA.

1902 - New York State introduced a bill to outlaw flirting in public.

1929 - The Seeing Eye was incorporated in Nashville, TN. The company's purpose was to train dogs to guide the blind.

1936 - The United States Army adopted the semi-automatic rifle.

1969 - The supersonic aeroplane Concorde made its first trial flight, at Bristol.

1972 - The ocean liner Queen Elizabeth was destroyed by fire in Hong Kong harbor.

1984 - Clara Peller was first seen by TV viewers in the "Where's the Beef?" commercial campaign for Wendy's.

1986 - Kodak got out of the instant camera business after 10 years due to a loss in a court battle that claimed that Kodak copied Polaroid patents.

Stay warm!

Good morning gang,

Rick - - so sorry to hear about your friend. Life can be short. I can get so busy with my life and "things" I have to pinch myself to remember I don't live on this planet permanently, I am only visiting. Tough to loose someone close. I have sent up prayers for his family and you too. Reminds us to keep our eyes on the important stuff.

Don't know where our night crew was last night - - maybe all with frozen fingers and can't push that keyboard. I can't believe this weather here - - never seen it like this in all my years in Florida. Cold, Seattle drizzle, nasty - - and been this way for days - - truly Seattle weather. Still no relief in sight. Sure glad we are in a global warming trend.

OK, I put on coffee and ph00 and hot water and hot chocolate and fresh donuts on the counter hidden under a box so the dragon doesn't spot them. Come and get them and I am gone for a great family reunion day for the outlaws. Wife's siblings all here plus some cousins and who knows what all will pop in. Should be fun. You have a great day too.

Bob

Hey Scott, you snuck in ahead of me there. Good morning - - glad to see someone is up and about. Thanks for the history lesson. Reading about Kodak made me think about the whole camera history - - wow have things changed. Kodak was slow making the transition to digital and it hurt them bad. They have a cool new camera out - - finally. Forgot to look on the bottom to see where it is made.

Hey, have a fun day - - go play in your woodpile - - if you can find it under the snow. Not a whole lot better down here - - high only 49 today - - DUH - - hey weather man, this is Florida - - ya know, tropical, warm, sun, breezes, pretty beaches, pretty girls on the beaches, big nasty muscled freaks on the beaches chasing those pretty girls, dolphins rolling in the surf. GGGRRRRR

I thought someone might find that interesting! I got a cool new camera for Christmas this year; a Canon digital SLR. FINALLY! I used to do a lot of photography, so maybe I'll get back into it a little more now.

-4* isn't too bad to work outside in if you dress right. Make sure you keep hydrated while working in the cold. Most people don't feel very thirsty when they work in the cold but the body uses water anyways. Very easy to dehydrate in the cold...

^^^^heheh, good point. just remember to tell him to make it actually FIT the snowmobile! saw shed is beautiful, board and batten, even decorated with an old saw...... and about maybe three feet deep?

beautiful here, 9 degrees and sun.had to focus on home stead as son played a game with us, helped us with a mind bender of a puzzle; and made his own supper then went to work. ignored two large pizzas. girls do make some fellas respectable...tee hee

jeep runs like a ...jeep. starts on a thought. just the way I like it, have to get an exhaust on it then inspection. dad and son put on a different top. tuned my STIHL chainsaw by ear (not much practice with that) and love how it runs. I guess I will know I did it right when the cylinders don't blow...

Rick, so sorry for the turmoils in your path. prayers and comfort to you and all affected....

Stormy Kroegers pick the person. Don looks very good in his. retirement option of becoming a SK model. I would think chaikwa is a deranged, homeless man in one......

Claude, you could go either the rich man business man 50s hat like ward cleaver, or grow long hair and look like ***** nelson, (just don't act like the creep)..

besides- it appears that chiakwa wants a felt pink hat. or my monitor color is off..

sunny but COLD out! moisture in the wind will kill ya....down to 21 percent hydration in about an hour outside, ironicly, feeding the birds.....

hoping good things for Blake, Scotty(top'stwin) fiver and ofc marc- whew- just finished a workout for tree cutting season, start swinmming the 15th...
wow, you GO guys! I'll ...pant...just....stay....pant here...
