Fresh pot brewing. Not really snowing, but goofs keep going in. Heads up Matt, calling for 10-20 on your side of the lake.

Why oh why is it so darn hard to find a crusher hat??? Had one years ago, want another one. Found one from Johnson Mills in VT... $25 bucks for the hat, $15 for shipping. I DON'T THINK SO! Only other company I found wants to sell them only in case lots. They're making it very difficult for me to be my stylish self!

It's been a busy week and I haven't shared. Some times I feel like all I have is bad news to share and I don't like burdening folks but I'll give you the nickle tour. Tuesday was difficult. A buddy from my PD days was killed in an accident early Tuesday. OJ was traveling on I59 on the SW side of Birmingham when another motorist crossed the interstate median and struck him head on, he died at the scene. All I'll say is the accident would be difficult, even for seasoned folks. Additionally, FIL called around 2100 that night because his cat just keeled over. He found him in the living room. Since my MIL passed a few years ago his cat "Mo" has been a great comfort to him. I've got to get back on the phone today and notify folks about the funeral arrangement for OJ. I help out with things like this so us "Old Folks" stay in the loop.

Evenin' all!
Nightshift for another week.
Good day today. 15* no wind. Just right to fire up my new to me snowmachine. '03 MXZ 600HO..... Talk about quick! That thing will lift the skis when you stand on it! Last sled I rode was an '84 alpine. HUGE difference.
Ya'll stay warm down south. I'll be here all night.

It's a what the steel haulers around here call a michigan sled. Can haul alot of weight on it. Some of the guys my friends dad runs with haul 100K lbs or more on the trailer. That 100K lbs doesn't include the truck weight! He usually hauls steel coils on his truck, I think once in a while he'll haul slabs.
I've been told be a couple people that they are very good dogs and are greaty to have around adults and kids. My parents have never owned a lab before. They've had Rotties. Dad had an Irish Setter years ago. Mom grew up with Daschunds. Guess they all like the dog so far, from what I was tod he's been pretty good and is attached to my sis.
Second, they can have hip problems so keeping their weight managed is very important.
Got to run out for a moment. One of my neighbors has locked his keys in his car and it's running. Got to catch it before it gets out of the neighborhood.

It's got power windows but the doors are the flush mount to the roof type. Way too easy to mess up the weather seal. The owner didn't want to experiment. All I have is a standard slim jim. I think you need the window wedges and the "J" shaped tool to go inside the door for this vehicle.

Evening everyone.
Sorry you didn't get any history this AM, but no one reads that drivel anyway.
Started plowing snow at 5AM and got done at 1PM. And for once it didn't start snowing again once I was finished!
Got the John Deere 60 put back together after the plowing. Have the oil plug out of it now letting it drain overnight. I don't think it's been changed since they rebuilt the motor in the late 70's. Seriously. It was just like 90 weight and BLACK. Did what the manual said to do; "Drain the oil then pour 2 gallons of diesel in the crankcase and start it for 3 to 5 seconds. Let drain." Did that twice and now I'm letting it ooze overnight and I'll do it again in the AM. Then a fresh batch of Rotella and it's good to go. I hope!
