On this day in 1806 - Lieutenant Zebulon Pike began his western expedition from Fort Belle Fountaine, near St. Louis, MS.

1863 - Confederate raider Bill Anderson and his Bushwhackers attacked Huntsville, MO, where they stole $45,000 from the local bank.

1870 - Georgia became the last of the Confederate states to be readmitted to the Union.

1901 - Over 74,000 Pittsburgh steel workers went on strike.

1916 - In Seattle, WA, Pacific Aero Products was incorporated by William Boeing. The company was later renamed Boeing Co.

1918 - The Second Battle of the Marne began during World War I.

1958 - Five thousand U.S. Marines landed in Beirut, Lebanon, to protect the pro-Western government. The troops withdrew October 25, 1958.

1965 - The spacecraft Mariner IV sent back the first close-up pictures of the planet Mars.

1971 - U.S. President Nixon announced he would visit the People's Republic of China to seek a "normalization of relations."

2002 - John Walker Lindh pled guilty to two felonies. The crimes were supplying services to Afghanistan's former Taliban government and for carrying explosives during the commission of a felony. Lindh agreed to spend 10 years in prison for each of the charges.

Finally got done cleaning the red salmon. Caught them about 3 hours ago when I should have been asleep but something badger badger badger was keeping me awake. At least I got something more than a flounder. Bad picture but its dark. Got soaking wet but I don’t care. The little one is going to be Friday night dinner. Haven’t named the rest.
Time for some badger badger badger sleep. Hope my badger badger badger problem with chaiwa's post badger badger badger has gone away. I should badger badger badger sleep good.

Hi all - - gorgeous morning - - all is well. And Scott even has the ph00 on and the "other" Scott is not around - - sooooo, have a cup. YEH - - good. Of course the Canuck will say he snuck in unanounced and sabotaged the ph00 - - - NOT.

Off to the doc this morning for my checkup - - too many docs this week. Oh well, good to know I am still breathing - - the alternative is not good.

Ya'll have a gudurn and keep it in the road.

Rainy today. Hopefully the rain will pick upmarket bi more and pull the smoke out of the air and knock down the fires..... Smelled like I woke up in a fireplace this AM.
