What soothing voice do EWE like? The operator? I wondered why you were dialling "Time" so often...

Now I understand the Free Time Specialist title. I'd never find any of this stuff on my own. Glad you're here for us part-timers.

the british accent would have to change a bit... I prefer the suffolk area accent.
ya know... that would be a great feature for a gps... they already rattle off street names.

243 posts since I was here last Sunday!! Took me forever to read them than got to the sheep one and it was worth it. Used to listen to Dr Demento for stuff like. Saw Weird Al in concert years ago but didn’t know anybody was doing parodies anymore. Good stuff.
Good storm yesterday. Power was out for over 8 hours but was too lazy to fire up the generator. Plus, with the in-laws gone the quite was wonderful. Wife and I spent the evening reading by a coleman lantern and had fried hotdogs onions and beans –camping food. Glad everybody’s doing well.
It has stopped raining and blowing so I gotta go chase lawn furniture. I think our table made it to the inlet. Later,

If you'll Google "GPS voices" you'll find some interesting info.

Weird Al is good, especially the older stuff. There was a little sheep stuff in last weeks thread too that was OK.

Red, yeah that model does well at hittin some of those objects that need to be obliterated. Need to install a second sheep thoughto keep its balanced, little too much recoil for just one sheep.

Rick, glad you like the new security system

Evening DTR, busy today. Went and got fitted for my tux, had lunch with a friend, came back here and worked in the yard till my brother got off work. We got some of the stuff he's moving packed on the trailer. Gonna finish the rest in the am, gonna load up the back of my truck with whatever didn't make it on the trailer. Gonna head to Bloomington IN tomorrow morning to move him into his new apartment.

Got a phone call today about a job for a Class I RR. Wanting to know if i was interested and would relocate to work for them. The hiring manager I talked to is going to forward my credentials to the shop manager for review and will contact me about an interview soon.

It's very possible, they want to start their new hires in 30 days. If i get it, i'd have to locate myself to the memphis area.

Morning all.

Good luck with the job Matt!

Today is Thursday, August 6th, 2009.

On this day in 1787 - The Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia began. The articles of the U.S. Constitution draft were to be debated.

1890 - The electric chair was used for the first time when Auburn State Prison in New York executed convicted murderer William Kemmler.

1914 - Austria-Hungary declared war against Russia. Serbia declared war against Germany.

1945 - The American B-29 bomber, known as the Enola Gay, dropped the first atomic bomb on an inhabited area. The bomb named "Little Boy" was dropped over the center of Hiroshima, Japan. An estimated 140,000 people were killed.
