Just curious, what kind, I'm going to school to be a Mechanical as we speak(suppose to be writing a research paper on internal combustion engine pistons).
Exciting news for the day (for me atleast), I got a formal offer from Case New Holland about ten minutes ago to take a Internship with them for the next 12 months.

Mechanical is a good do all profession. Just too many choices so you end up specializing if you want to or not.
You going power generation, machines, pressure vessels,

Machines would be my area, love equipment(big or small). I worked for ten years turning wrenches for a golf course and doing farm work growing up. I have worked as a design intern for bobcat, the major project I worked on should be released in a the next year I would assume. I took a position with Case as a manufacturing engineer(trying to make myself more rounded). Would like to try a position in Test/Quality as its alittle more hands on.

Evenin. Had some friends over for madhat movie Mondays... watched some Joe Dirt and ate some chicken patties... mmm.
Got a little fire water in from some old dude that works here. It's pretty good, a little rough. He is inspiring me to make my own again. Now... where did I put that corn meal...

Test / quality might also get you hung up in QC, auditing vendors, verifying recieved items for quality.
Mechanical will get you a few good years in the field, some time in manufacturing, and then a couple years in the R&D department and followed by a balance of field/manufacturing and R&D. Once you know your product inside and out, you start leading projects (either field or R&D) and your primed for management. Just where you wanna be right?

Go Roughriders!!!
Its BAD!! I have spent the evening dragging people home. I have the only plow truck with chains all around and weight in the back (77 Chev 3/4 ton). Its like an ice rink without chains here.
That was a mighty fine rant by Bobby!
Lots of drivebys lately. Must still be working on getting the hairballs out.

I do. And you're NOT removing it.
Morning all.
No internet yesterday afternoon and last nite. Service told me they'd get on it "no later than Thursday morning". I told them for what we pay for a dedicated T-1 line, they'd better get on it NOW or I'd be paying a visit to their office tonight. (The advantage of having the service provider based in the same town I live in!) Miraculously, I have internet service again this morning!
Today is Tuesday, November 23rd.
On this day in 1765 - Frederick County, MD, repudiated the British Stamp Act.
1835 - Henry Burden patented the horseshoe manufacturing machine.
1943 - During World War II, U.S. forces seized control of Tarawa and Makin from the Japanese during the Central Pacific offensive in the Gilbert Islands.
1945 - The U.S. wartime rationing of most foods ended.
1983 - The first Pershing II missiles were deployed in West Germany. In response, the U.S.S.R. broke off International Nuclear Forces (INF) talks in Geneva.
1985 - Larry Wu-tai Chin, a retired CIA analyst, was arrested and accused of spying for China. He committed suicide a year after his conviction.
1998 - The tobacco industry signed the biggest U.S. civil settlement. It was a $206-billion deal to resolve remaining state claims for treating sick smokers.
1998 - A U.S. federal judge rejected a Virginia county's effort to block pornography on library computer calling the attempt unconstitutional.
Another slow history day.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Did Noah have woodpeckers on the ark? If he did, where did he keep them?
is ready, willing and able.
