Yeah Heidi, 4 hours difference.
Just got back from the gym and donating blood. O-neg is in high demand right now for some reason. I was on the list for a phone call today. They were happy to take a walk in....
Got the truck warmed up in the garage. Need to go check out a blend door on it. Should be getting a bit more heat than I am.
Gotta roll. 1st kid gets out of school in 1 hour.

Evening everybody! took to wife to the train station this morning so she can go to chicago to visit her friend. Did some work on one of dads tractors today and picked up the steel so we can fabricate the plow mount.
Scott thanks again for the pictures. I showed them to dad today and he likes your setup.
Going out to the garage to do some work.

Evenin' all!
Got my chores / projects done forthe day. Found an old cell phone charger behind the glove box that was probably binding up the blend door. Guess I need to clean out the glove box a bit more often....
Time to make some dinner.

Well, we got all the metal today for the project. Got it all layed out right now. Dad made a couple templates tonight for some of the mounts we need to make that are gonna be welded to the plate. Gotta take them over to a friends shop sunday or monday and use his plasma and drill a couple 1" holes. Should come together fairly fast once all the pices are cut and ready to weld. He liked your idea of the top link and is thinking of doing something similar with his set up.
I would work on it tomorrow but I am doing an oil change, brake job, and fixing some damage on the wifes car. The oil and brakes shouldn't take long but she has some kind of skid plate and a plastic piece hang off the under side of her car right now. Dunno how long that'll take and who knows if something else might be damaged on the underside too.

I like projects like that too, actually this one is a good one to school dad a little. He's never welded before, I've always done the welding for him or a friend of his had done welding for him. I'm thinking of having him do a little this time, show him how to do some basic welding in case I'm not around to do it. He can torch and braze pretty well but never has welded, bout time he learns.
Ok, got a pickle now. got the second interview for the RR in Iowa next week scheduled. Now tonight I found out that a RR near me that I cut my teeth at is hiring again and I am the first one up on list for the machinist position there that they have open. The boss there and the other machinists (mechanics) I've worked with want me back for my skills and they liked working with me. Gotta make a decision sometime soon. The wife is fine with either job, so...

Guess they should've grabbed ya at the 1st interview then, eh? Teach'em to drag their feet. Ask the old boss if they'd retro-act your seniority for the time you were off. (won't hurt)

Because it's the universal donor. O-neg is used for probably 90+ percent of the time that there's a call for blood.

I've thought about that. If they retro-act my senority I'll have about 4 machinist above me and 7 below me in the roster. If that happens I can get any shift I want with weekends off, I'm thinking afternoons or nights then.
