I know a man from TX that got his hunting truck registered in NM. He then got hunting and fishing licenses from NM. The state of NM set him up in a sting operation ,caught him, and then charged him for out of state hunting fees, they also confiscated his truck(and Jeep he was towing) and rifles along with another man's who was hunting with him. All in all, he paid a heavy price. The state also took all his trophies even though he was made to pay for the out of state license....he kissed all the money he had spent at the taxidermist bye bye.

Any state is gonna nail ya to get the revinue coming in. Who can blame them. Why should another state benefit when you're driving on MY roads? My roads need the repair as far as I'm concerned. Why should I pay my vehicle tags and licence fee and let somebody else get away with it?

Explain the constitutional right to possess and use a device specifically intended to allow you to break a law to me. As far as I know there is no such right.

So basically, what you guys are saying, is that I am illegally driving now, because I am living here and registered to drive in another state? That's kinda messed up, say I moved here in May, a month after renewing my license in Ohio, I would have to get a new lisence a month later? ....Gotta love the government, what a PITA
If you drove for a couple of years without renewing your tags, I would say you are pretty lucky.......

That being said, are you a resident of Va, that is, is your job permanent?

I took my job in Illinois as a temporary thing, wasn't sure if I would like it. I got pulled over and basically used that as my defense. Worked in Illinois, but it was also the truth.

Soon as I made up my mind to stay, I got everything changed over........
