-80 windchill and all logic disappears. Sounds change. Stuff breaks without touching it, and people
ill equipped for these conditions somehow think they need to be outside.
No broken bones after xrays! Just a lot of banged up carcass matter.
I'll be aight.
Careful down there with that Ice!

I'm doing my blend doors. Found two broken and not one of the motors had the required 3 screws. One only had one holding it in. Time to put all New doors in then put the dash back together. Fun not

Working on exploratory wells in the Beaufort Sea sometimes it would be -40f or colder with absolutely no wind.
Standing on the ice it would be so silent you could your heart beat than there would be a super loud crack that would remind me to practice my ice dance.

Is that a normal craving for what she is going through? Makes me feel very sad for her and for those of you who love her. Can only pray that it all works out.

Scotty is the one with the -43. He lives in...uh...well his location says he lives in uh--"Thanks Don M!"(that's different). I still think its someplace in Canada.

Where I am at it is exactly 32°f and raining on top of the ice at the moment. It sucks.

Funny thing (well not really) is that here at home next to the ocean it is 32°f but if I drive inland 15 miles and about 150 feet lower it might be below -10°f.
I am back up again because I didn't go anywhere today and took about a 4 hour nap.
I knew the nap was a bad idea but it was fun at the time.
I dreamed of fish

So if the Wind turned you´d be cold, that´s a lot like here.
Right now we get the Wind from North, clear blue sky and Cold dry air, next couple of days it´s supposed to turn to the West, then we get warmer air and rain and clouds
I´d rather have the cold dry air.

fish???

Coffee is on, phoo too, come and get it.

Sooo - - did you do the "fish dance?" (Something fishy about this story)

Scotty lives in - - uh - - - I still think its someplace in Canada.
These are not normal cravings for her. It is typical that people have cravings with steroids and many will bloat up really bad very quickly.
Oh yeh - - Scotty lives in Regina, Saskatchewan ........and yes, you are correct.............that is in Canada. You may now do the "Canada" dance..............

Because you're alone and there's no one to play with?

Morning all.

It is Saturday. But not just ANY Saturday. It is December 7th. Do any of you that are NOT as old as dirt remember why this date is significant? Look for the bold print if you don't know!

1787 - Delaware became the first state to ratify the U.S. constitution becoming the first of the United States.

1796 - John Adams was elected to be the second president of the United States.

1836 - Martin Van Buren was elected the eighth president of the United States.

1926 - The gas operated refrigerator was patented by The Electrolux Servel Corporation.

1941 - Pearl Harbor, located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu was attacked by nearly 200 Japanese warplanes. The attack resulted in the U.S. entering into World War II.

1946 - A fire at the Winecoff Hotel in Atlanta killed 119 people. It was America's worst hotel fire disaster. The hotel founder, W. Frank Winecoff, was also killed in the fire.

1972 - Apollo 17 was launched at Cape Canaveral. It was the last U.S. moon mission.

1972 - Imelda Marcos, wife of Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos, was stabbed and seriously wounded by an assailant. The man was then shot and killed by her bodyguards.

1982 - Charlie Brooks Junior, a convicted murderer, became the first prisoner in the U.S. to be executed by injection, at a prison in Huntsville, TX.

1987 - Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev set foot on American soil for the first time. He had come to the U.S. for a Washington summit with U.S. President Reagan.

1987 - 43 people were killed when a gunman opened fire on a fellow passenger and the two pilots aboard a Pacific Southwest Airlines jetliner.

1992 - The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a Mississippi abortion law which, required women to get counseling and then wait 24 hours before terminating their pregnancies.

1993 - Six people were killed and 17 were injured when a gunman opened fire on a Long Island Rail Road commuter train.

1993 - Energy Secretary Hazel O'Leary revealed that the U.S. government had conducted more than 200 nuclear weapons tests in secret at its Nevada test site.

1995 - A probe sent from the Galileo spacecraft entered into Jupiter's atmosphere. The probe sent back data to the mothership before it was presumably destroyed.

1996 - The space shuttle Columbia returned from the longest-ever shuttle flight of 17 days, 15 hours and 54 minutes.

2002 - In Amsterdam, Netherlands, two Van Gogh paintings were stolen from the Van Gogh Museum. The two works were "View of the Sea st Scheveningen" and "Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen." On July 26, 2004, two men were convicted for the crime and were sentenced to at least four years in prison each.

2003 - A 12-inch by 26-inch painting of a river landscape and sailing vessel by Martin Johnson Heade was sold at auction for $1 million. The painting was found in the attic of a suburban Boston home where it had been stored for more than 60 years.

Today's thought:
No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which one is true.

TOB&F today please, they can use your pryers.

Hi scotbarkbobslevmomtopfarmerrailfrontytallhatmexetc etc
Minus 40's severe windchill warnings here. I am so grateful for my overbuilt awesome heated garage while I do my blend doors.

Thoughts and Prayers for Bobby and clan.
When I was deeply involved with Strongman I witnessed some very strange behaviors and craving with all the 'supplements' that where being ingested.
Rational was not a word that applied.
Poor wee one going thru all those tweaks. I feel for the family Bobby.

Mornin all. Wow this weather is annoying. Above the freezing mark this AM and you can hear the thaw going on.
Look on the bright side, our weather becomes your weather, eventually.
Lots of slush and road spray on the drive home and of course my windshield washers don't work. Wife is wondering why my coat sleeve is so dirty.

Was going to go out and cut some firewood today. Not so sure I will. Still 0 out at 10:30. About 6 right now so I don't think we are going to see 10 today unless the clouds roll off and the sun comes out. About all the wood furnace is doing is keeping my floor kinda warm. Gotta go out and stoke it soon. Afraid of what tomorrow is going to be like. Have to break ice so the cows can drink in the morning.

Oh, forgot to mention. Our pay checks were sent to the wrong address by the company that does our pay roll! The checks were all cancelled (those that didn't have direct deposit like me) and will be reprinted Monday and sent out.

That's not cool ever but especially at this time of the year.

Good afternoon all y'all.
It is definitely a slow day around our house today. Last night we had a surprise belated birthday party for DW. The doorbell rang and 30 people came walking in the front door. The look on her face was priceless
There were lots of people, lots of food and lots of drinks and we were up WAAAY past our bedtime. Add the fact that it was -36F when we got up this morning and you have all the makings of a very slow day. I am finally starting to feel human and it is 2:20pm here. Wow, I sure recover way slower than I did in my younger years.

I just updated the situation in Seattle in the PRAYERS section. Things are coming apart up there including the care givers. You can read details up there. Distressing phone call - - wish I could help - - all I can do from here is call and support and call upstairs and ask Him to intervene with calming, strength and healing all the way around. Tough.

Have to get beautiful and head for final Pageant performance tonight. Ya'll be good.
